I should've waited for a bar table at Longhorn. It had been years since dinning at CityRange. My girlfriend and I decided to go there after Longhorn had over an hour wait. We were seated very quickly and our waiter, Jake, was polite and very accommodating. We started with the pretzel bites. They were good but the white cheddar cheese dipping sauce looked like it separated. Ironically, we ordered the same thing. Half rack of ribs. I ordered fried okra and fries as sides and my girlfriend requested fries and coleslaw. We received or entrees promptly. My girlfriend took one bite out of the coleslaw and the face she made was that of pure disgust. She grabbed a napkin and spit it out. I looked down at the bowl of coleslaw it was pink. It had spoiled. The waiter came back and she requested the fried okra. By this time, I've began eating some of my fries and noticed that I was drinking my sweet tea more often than normal. I ate a few pieces of okra and it was undercooked. No crunch at all. Soft and kind of mushy. Then I noticed something. I could see the sea salt granules on my okra and fries. It was a lot. That's why I had began drinking more tea than normal. I look to my girlfriend and tell her, "you shouldn't have ordered the okra." She saw mine. Her order of okra was now at the table. Salt salt salt...that's all you noticed. Large granules of salt. Like crunch in your teeth thickness. We ate half of our half rack of ribs and just couldn't eat anymore. Jake asked if we wanted a box and we both said no. We showed him all the over salted foods and he took the plates. He came back and had the manager adjust or check to not include the entrees, thankfully. The single order of coleslaw replacing okra sat at the table. He said this wasn't the first complaint about overly salted food. I showed him the salt on the okra and said, "Just ask the cooks to under-salt it. We have salt and pepper shakers at the table. I have no problem adding more, but I can't take away salt." Jake was great but for this instance, I'm reluctant to be a patron of CityRange again. Your dinning experience may be better, just look for...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were in town for our 2 anniversary and we decided to try this restaurant since he was in the mood for a good steak. We sat in the bar area and was treated by our server in less than 5 minutes. After we ordered our food it took 45 mins to 1 hour to get our food. My boyfriend ordered the 10 oz ribeye and a baked sweet potato which both were cold. The honey nut butter couldn’t even melt on the baked sweet potato it was so cold. Our waitress never came back to check on us so we stopped another waitress, Ashley and explained that the food was cold. She immediately apologized and took the food back. After waiting another 30-45 minutes for the food to be recooked, the manager brings his food back. They reheated his steak. THE SAME STEAK. He even got back the pieces he cut off the steak back on the plate. He ordered his steak medium rare to begin with but of course after heating it in the microwave it was now well done. The sweet potato was finally hot, but half the size as the original size of the sweet potato he got to begin with. It looked like they just cut it in half and heated it up. Our waitress (the original one) still has yet to come back to our table at all. The other waitress came back to check after we received our food and we explained that this is the same steak he got before. She even agreed that it looked the same and that shocked her. She was super nice and of course tried to get us something else for free but we had already been there 2 hours and were just ready to go at this point. I ordered the chicken presto flatbread and of course it was cold but i ate it anyways. It wasn’t bad tasting at all. We paid for my meal and the drinks we had and left. My boyfriends meal alone was a $26 meal and it was not of quality at all. We will probably never come back to this...
Read moreWOW! There's bad then there's City Range. It was hard to decide which was worse, the service or the food. What adds to that is they weren't busy! There was less than 10 tables at the time we were there as we were having an early dinner. The young lady that was our server said the right things, for the most part, but it was apparent she was only doing time. There was a total lack of friendliness. It took forever to get drinks, then refills and ice. An example is we asked for some extra ice for the tea, she acknowledged the request but apparently decided her time was better spent cleaning a booth on the way to the kitchen. Even then it took an extraordinarily long time for her to return with the ice. We asked about bread and was told it was only served with meals at lunch and dinner? Hmmmmm Keep in mind this is supposedly a "Good" restaurant that was NOT busy. So after finishing our salad we waited another 40 minutes for our food to come out. The potato a leftover and would barely melt butter. The steak, it would not even melt the dollop of butter on top of it. My wife's food was the same, only she had soggy okra and a leftover potato. Having reached our limit I asked to see the manager. He acknowledged he was aware the service had taken longer than normal and the food was not up to par, saying it was just a one off and not indicative of what they normally service. He also said the potatoes had been made that morning and were not fresh. Why then, if he knew of the issues before the food was served, did he not do something about it? He did offer to redo the food but by that time we were just ready to be out of there. After apologizing again he did give us gift cards and didn't charge us for our tea or salad. So...
