My brother had a top-of-the-line Samsung dishwasher that stopped working after a couple of years. He called Georges and had them come out for a service call which is $75. The repair man took off a panel and saw that there may have it one point been some sort of bugs in there that had contact with the control board. This was less than a 10 minute assessment. They checked stock for Samsung and because of Covid and other issues the board is not available. The repair man told them they would need to get a new dishwasher! I went to my brothers house on Thanksgiving and all the dishes were piling up because they had to be done by hand. Later that day I opened the dishwasher and found the panel my brother said that was taken off and then opened the plastic casing around the control board. Something had left residue on the control board no it was not roach droppings but something was indeed there across some of the contacts. Iām not a repair man but we went out and bought a soldering iron and contact cleaner. We shut the power off took the board out and cleaned it with contact cleaner several times and use the stiff brush to clean the contacts until they were clean. One of which I believe was a Micro processor and the contacts were very close together and this residue went across several. We let the board dry for 15 minutes I put it back together and the dishwasher worked. Knowing full well that it would work for a minute or two or sometimes 10 and stop we had no expectations. The dishwasher not only did that cycle but every cycle since then past Christmas it still works. I called Georges last week and had to leave a message because the repair supervisor wasnāt there. I called back today and spoke to Jason who informed me he once again looked for the board and it is not available from Samsung. They will not use a refurbished board which are available from other dealers and online. End of a board has any kind of residue they will not clean it they replace it. So before you call expecting a ārepair manā to fix some thing know this.. They can only fix your dishwasher by swapping parts with a new part if the part is not available youāre looking at getting a new dishwasher. Definitely not the repair man...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreContacted them in February 2022 to repair my Viking refrigerator that was having trouble holding temperature in the freezer. Itās now May 2023 and the issue has still not been resolved.
Itās impossible to get updates or communication from anyone at this company. Their M-F business hours are listed as 8:30am - 4:00pm but they purposefully donāt answer the phone until 10:30 in the morning. They also shut their phones off after 3:00. Theyāll schedule service appointments AND provide a two-hour arrival window, and then just never show up.
They claimed that ordered parts were ābackorderedā, with no estimated time of arrival. I finally called and demanded to speak with Jason or another manager⦠and MAGICALLY the part that had been on backorder for well over 14 months was now due to arrive in just a few days.
Shockingly, the part did not resolve the issue, and Iām exactly where I was when I originally called Georgeās for service in February of last year.
In my entire year and a half relationship as a consumer with Georgeās, this morning was the first time Iāve had the pleasure of speaking with Tom, who introduced himself as a service manager. Over a year and a half of back and forth, hassle, broken promises, missed calls and missed appointments, today was the first day a manager became involved - this is embarrassingly unacceptable. To make matters worse, Tomās response was not apologetic or understanding, but rather a call to inform me that āwe donāt want this repair any longerā, and requested to āget off the lineā.
Itās painfully obvious they are not equipped to service high end appliance brands, and will tell you as such. If youāre in the market for a company that will negatively affect your mental health, then look no further than Georgeās Appliance...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called Samsung to get an authorized repair to my refrigerator. They recommended Georgeās in Brooksville. I called and had a tech come to the house to check out my problem and give me an estimated repair cost. The tech wrote the estimate and I paid him for the service call, he said it would take a couple of weeks for the parts to come in. A day or two they called to say that Samsung no longer carries the $14.00 part I needed so they couldnāt fix my refrigerator. I called Samsung to see what my alternatives were and they called Georgeās to check the part needed. The person that had checked my unit was on the line with the Samsung rep, AND HE HUNG UP ON HIM, after he told him that Samsung had, in fact, found the required part. I was contacted by the Samsung rep who told me they refused to obtain the part and repair my refrigerator. I called Georgeās to be told that they would NOT order the part or repair my refrigerator. I couldnāt believe they refused to obtain the part and force me to purchase a new refrigerator for a $14.00 part. This was by far the absolute worse experience with a supposedly reputable repair service I have ever had. I warn anyone needing appliance repair to avoid Georgeās at all cost. To the people who recommended them, Shame on you, for deceiving the public ! I would have rated them -5 stars if Icould. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
