Tao Massage — Local services in Spring Valley

I recently booked a couples massage at Great Massage Spa after finding a deal on Groupon for $103. We added on ear candling and CBD oil for an extra $10. The facility itself was clean, quiet, and tidy, which set a promising tone when we arrived.

The massage technique was actually very good—both therapists seemed experienced and applied the right amount of pressure. However, there were several aspects of the experience that took away from what could’ve been a relaxing and professional session.

First, both massage therapists talked to each other almost the entire time during the massage, which really distracted from the ambiance. There was also a moment when one of their phones went off, further interrupting the peaceful environment we were hoping for.

In terms of professionalism, I was disappointed with how the draping was handled. I wore a lounge gown without undergarments, expecting to remain properly covered during the service. While lying face down, most of my backside remained exposed for a large portion of the massage. Even after attempting to adjust the sheet myself, I was left uncovered again—at one point, the therapist even giggled, which made me feel uncomfortable. When I turned face up, my breasts were left fully exposed for the remainder of the massage. I was in the room with my husband, so I tried to focus on the massage itself, but this level of exposure was definitely not appropriate and made me feel uneasy.

Lastly, after the session, the therapists asked for tips. While I did tip $10 each out of courtesy, I don’t believe the service warranted the $20 per therapist they were clearly hoping for. I don’t tip full price for half-professional service.

Overall, Great Massage Spa has potential with its cleanliness and skilled technique, but they really need to work on maintaining client modesty, respecting the peaceful environment, and showing professionalism throughout the service. I hope they take this feedback seriously—it could truly elevate their business...

Did a couple's massage. The massage rooms are very nice and have a clean, modern feel to them. Front desk guy was very friendly. However, the masseuses themselves were subpar compared to other places in the area. For one, there was no interaction regarding type of massage/strength of massaging throughout the visit. Additionally, when instructed to go deeper or lighter, there was no change felt. And throughout the massage, the movements and massage techniques felt random and a bit rushed. In the middle of the massage, the masseuse got a phone call and he answered it lol. And time after time, he would keep leaving the room to do who knows what, with some random guy poking his head in to chat in the middle of the massage. The masseuse was also texting at the end. The other masseuse was chill though.

We had a good deal from Groupon, and it definitely felt like we got the service we paid for; but there are other places that will definitely do better.

Oh, also... we tipped $20 which came out to be 20% and still got asked if this was for "one person only?" Be prepared to just say "yes" and walk out.

Overall, probably won't go here again. If you're close by and get a groupon deal, maybe worth. Definitely a hard place to...

Firstly, the quality of the massage I received was subpar. It felt rushed and lacked the skill and technique I expected from a professional establishment. Additionally, the pressure applied was inconsistent and uncomfortable. What truly marred the experience, however, was the way the staff handled the tipping process. We were not only pressured but essentially coerced into leaving a tip. Being told that we couldn't leave without tipping left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. Despite their high rating, I found the staff to be rude and unfriendly, which was a stark contrast to what I had hoped for when planning a relaxing day out with friends. It was particularly disheartening as I had suggested the visit, only to be embarrassed in front of my friends by the unprofessional behavior of the staff. Overall, my visit to Great Seasons Massage was a deeply disappointing one.
