From the beginning of doing our research on this shop we only read great things and saw some amazing pieces coming from their artists. Everything from the shops Facebook page to Instagram and webpage was superb and helpful. Our first contact was setting up our initial interest and what we wanted and where, the shop got back to us in great timing and was professional in their emails and once they got an idea of what we wanted and our time frames of being in Las Vegas they rang us up where we were told about the artist they think would work best and the initial meeting with the artist to talk about designs and actual appointments. The ladies we initially spoke to were very helpful considering we knew nothing about the process and were a little lost with everything so no surprise when we met the ladies in the shop to talk to our artist they were amazingly helpful and really made our experience throughout our time at the shop. Meeting our artist was another home run because they set us up with two phenomenal gentlemen. Myself wanting a tribal piece and being a female so pretty small area to work with I got set up with Eugene who has amazing line work. Eugene and I came to the conclusion of sticking to his traditional work of Polynesian inspired pieces and came up with a beautiful one of a kind piece for my shoulder. I was beyond happy about what he did from the few ideas I gave him and the overall turnout of the tattoo. Eugene ensured I was comfortable with everything throughout the whole process and was great conversation and when it was all said and done I'd go back to him for future prices. Now my buddy is a tall dude who wanted a color piece but decided it a little late so the initial artist Angel he got set up with wasn't who he ended up with but Angel was a straight shooter with what were in his realm of capabilities and went ahead and set him up with someone in the shop that could give my buddy what he wanted which brought us to Jake who was energetic happy dude with some mad skills. Jake created a design for the thigh that incorporated everything my friend wanted and was amazing to watch work. Both of our appointments were set up without any hassle and in a time frame that was perfect for what we needed considering were there for a rugby tournament. I was visiting Las Vegas and knew I wanted to get a new tattoo, I did my research online and after having read all the reviews I decided to try Skin Design Tattoo. I e-mailed via the web site briefly outlining what I wanted, I already had some tattoos and wanted the new to work with the old. I received a prompt response from Ileana. She asked me to send in pictures of what I was looking for and where I wanted the new tattoo, so that she could connect me with the most appropriate artist for the type of work I wanted. Unlike the reviewer that thought this a strange request, I felt this resonated their professionalism. Having sent in the photos I received an email back saying that Vic, one of their apprentices, would be able to meet my needs. At first I was apprehensive of an apprentice doing the work, but after looking at photos of his work I felt that he was more than capable. I was required to pay a deposit of $100.00, again unlike another reviewer this seems perfectly acceptable. The artist is holding his time and if you are a no show, he loses out. Plus if your serious about getting work why does it matter! I went to the studio/shop a couple of days prior to my appointment to check out the place and fortunately also got to meet Vic. I was very impressed with the studio which is well designed, clean and the staff very helpful. Vic took time to chat with my design thoughts. I was quoted $400.00 for the new tattoo. I arrived for my appointment and we discussed design and color and after showing me the design on my skin, Vic got to work. I was in the studio for 6.5 hrs and the result was beautiful, Vic normally charges $80 an hour but honored the quoted $400.00 and no I didn't have to ask him to do that. I was so impressed with his work I went back for two more 6 hour sessions to update some pre-existing tattoos. The finished result is fantastic and I am very happy with it. I was on a trip to Vegas for shopping and dining and figured while I was there that I would look into getting a tattoo touched up in black ink (was originally in red). Stopped at a couple shops that were located in some of the Hotel/Casinos on the strip and was quoted $450 for a touch-up that would take an hour at most! Knowing they were trying to take me for a ride, I respectfully declined and figured I would just get the touch-up done back home. HOWEVER fate would have it that one of the Skin Design tattoo artist (Fernando) was walking through Fashion Show Mall and noticed my sleeves so he stopped to give me a card for his shop. Immediately gave off the 'chill dude' vibes and when I told him of my quotes he asked me to take a look at what I was wanting and let me know right there that he'd get that done for WAY LESS! His quote was right on par with other shops I've been to in the past ... he was honest and to top it off he told me he would get me in the that night or the very next day. Honest to his word, he met me at the shop the next day, did a GREAT job on my touch up and I was on the road home in about 1 hour. I'll definitely be going back to him on my next Vegas visit to get more work done .... his IG photos showed his skills (impressive to say the least) and he was straight with me by letting me know IF it was something he wasn't confident in, that he would recommend a co-worker but his past work leaves me with no doubts he'll be able to more than handle any art work I bring his way.
