I recently visited the sushi restaurant Yama with high hopes, as it had received good ratings on maps. However, my experience there turned out to be nothing short of a disaster. I had decided to try it out on a bustling Saturday night with a group of three. Initially, we were promptly seated, which was a positive start to the evening. We eagerly ordered the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi option along with some drinks. Unfortunately, from the moment our sushi orders arrived, everything went downhill. The quality of the food was absolutely dreadful. The rice tasted stale and old, the fish was far from fresh, and even the seaweed was oddly chewy. As someone who has frequented sushi restaurants for years, I have never encountered such an abysmal dining experience. In an attempt to address our concerns, we requested to speak with a manager. To our dismay, a person named James came to our table. We expressed our dissatisfaction and disappointment with the quality of the sushi, hoping for a resolution. However, James response left much to be desired. He simply apologized but claimed that there was little he could do to rectify the situation. In fact, he bluntly stated that we could either pay and leave or endure the dreadful meal. Such dismissive customer service was deeply disheartening. Given the plethora of fantastic AYCE sushi establishments in the area, I implore you to avoid Yama at all costs. It is clear that they do not prioritize the quality of their ingredients or the satisfaction of their customers. We paid the full price for our disappointing meal and promptly decided to head to another AYCE sushi restaurant instead, where we were met with a far superior dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to Yama was marked by terrible sushi, lackluster customer service, and an overall unpleasant atmosphere. I strongly urge you to explore other options in the area that offer delightful AYCE sushi, as there are plenty of superior alternatives available. Spare yourself the disappointment and frustration by steering clear of Yama. Furthermore, I failed to mention that our dissatisfaction with the sushi at Yama was so severe that we could only manage to eat two pieces each before we decided to address the issue with the manager. It is not an exaggeration to say that the quality was so abysmal that it was practically inedible. Despite our best efforts to convey our disappointment to the manager, we were met with a complete lack of concern or willingness to resolve the matter. This disregard for customer satisfaction only further intensified our frustration and solidified our decision to leave the restaurant and seek a better dining experience elsewhere.

I have to ask you a question. Have you ever heard of all-you-can-eat sushi? Well, it's finally arrived, my friends. And when you spend supper money at Yama Sushi, you are helping the restaurant continue in the tradition of AYCE sushi restaurants in the Las Vegas area. This place is uniquely positioned in the AYCE market due to several factors that have been working in its favor. One factor is how it is basically located within the Chinatown area. This lends a copious amount of street cred to their already fantastic legacy. Now, let's be honest. Can you imagine how many sushi rolls they are making for the customers when the customers are ordering all-you-can-eat and really going to town as far as how many rolls and appetizers they are consuming? I'm sure they are staying busy back there in the sushi kitchen. I walked by. I saw plenty of fresh fish, so no problem there. On the menu is where you will find out that they have several rolls to choose from. One of them is called the crazy roll. Can you imagine? But don't stop there. Do you like appetizers? The answer is usually always yes. And when you go for it AYCE style, they let you get your choice of appetizers to augment your sushi experience. Not everyone offers that level of service at the price point that was published on the menu. Are you ready for this? It's quite the deal! I took pictures of all the best parts, so be sure to have a look. I think you will like them very much. If you like beer in a pitcher, then you are not alone. And that has to provide some level of comfort, measurable or not. I got so full after the sushi, but I still ate the pistachio ice cream. It was so yummy and creamy, and because it was pistachio, it was extra-tasty based on the flavor of the pistachios that they inserted into the ice cream base. Then, on the way home, I ate 2 candy bars. Completely unnecessary for sure. But that Cadbury fruit and nut one, I just can't get enough. They should serve those in more locations throughout the city and beyond. When the check finally arrived, I was basically done eating anyway. That's the perfect time, to be honest with you. I hope this review helped you decide what to order. If not, please let me know in the comments section below.

Honestly. They stopped actually serving cooked (or described as "grilled salmon skin” according to the menu) salmon in their Salmon Skin Roll... And then they thought they made it better by drowning the replacement roll with the eel sauce they forgot to put on the first roll. Something was so off about it. I could taste the jelly texture of the skin in my mouth. Ew. I took it apart. Raw and nasty and jelly like. Then all of a sudden (like super sudden) I get served a new roll covered in candy eel sauce they forgot to put on the first one. Honestly, it looks like the wise Asian owner sold this place to a Caucasian owner and operations are lacking in light of the next great depression. Also. If you choose to order the "Baked Mussel", you need to be sure to state that you would like it served "medium well" 👍 (according to the waitress). Otherwise, expect cold mayo slapped on a raw mussel 😉. Change the prices since you changed the owners (I AM JUST ASSUMING) and since you lowered the quality of food here. Lose money💯. And for Buddha sake, this is a food establishment. Not a night club. I mean yes. We love to wiggle while we eat, but only when quality delicious food is being served to us. So low the damn volume down please. It was 7pm. We are off the strip. Not on the strip. I guess they need to do that so we cannot hear the disappointment in the quality of food being served.

If you're looking for fresh and high-quality sushi at a reasonable price in Las Vegas, Yama Sushi is a must-visit! This place is especially famous for its All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi, offering excellent value for money with a wide selection of sushi and rolls. I tried various dishes during my visit, and I was extremely satisfied with both the quality of the food and the service.

🍣 Fresh Sushi & Exceptional Quality The most important factor in sushi is freshness and taste, and Yama Sushi exceeded my expectations. The fish was thickly sliced and incredibly fresh, melting in my mouth with every bite.

✅ Recommended Sushi & Sashimi:

Salmon Sashimi – Thickly cut, buttery, and packed with umami flavor. Tuna Sashimi – Fresh and flavorful with no fishy taste. Eel (Unagi) Nigiri – Sweet and smoky eel perfectly glazed with sauce, offering a deep umami flavor. Spicy Tuna Roll – The combination of spicy tuna and creamy avocado was simply delicious. Dragon Roll – Crispy shrimp tempura, avocado, and eel created a perfect balance of textures and flavors. Rainbow Roll – A visually stunning roll topped with fresh salmon, tuna, and white fish, offering a variety of flavors in each bite. In addition to sushi, they offer a wide range of rolls and nigiri, all of which maintained a high standard of freshness and quality. The rice portion was well-balanced—not too much or too little—and had the perfect texture, neither too mushy nor too dry.

✅ Great Side Dishes! Aside from sushi, Yama Sushi also offers a variety of Japanese dishes, which made the meal even more enjoyable.

✅ Recommended Side Dishes:

Shrimp Tempura – Crispy and not overly greasy, making it a light and satisfying appetizer. Miso Soup (Miso Shiru) – Warm and rich in umami, perfect for starting your meal. Edamame – Lightly salted and a great complement to sushi. Japanese Salad – Fresh greens with a light yuzu dressing, adding a refreshing balance to the meal. Pairing sushi with these side dishes makes for an even more enjoyable dining experience!

✅ Fast & Friendly Service Despite being a busy AYCE sushi restaurant, the service was quick and efficient. Orders arrived promptly, and the sushi quality remained consistent.

The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had a pleasant dining experience. They quickly cleared tables for new guests, and additional orders were taken and delivered promptly. Unlike some AYCE sushi places where service can be slow, Yama Sushi was well-organized and ran smoothly, making for a hassle-free dining experience.

✅ Clean & Comfortable Atmosphere The restaurant interior was clean and modern, creating a comfortable dining environment. Located in Las Vegas Chinatown, it’s easily accessible, and the space is relatively large, making it a great spot for groups as well.

However, since it’s a popular restaurant, there may be a wait during peak hours. I recommend visiting earlier to avoid long wait times. Fortunately, the turnover was quick, so the wait wasn’t as long as expected.

✅ Final Verdict: Amazing Value & Fresh Sushi – Highly Recommended! Yama Sushi is one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in Las Vegas Chinatown, offering fresh ingredients, a diverse menu, and excellent value for money.

✔ Thick-cut, fresh sashimi and sushi ✔ Wide variety of rolls and Japanese dishes ✔ Fast and friendly service ✔ Clean and comfortable dining atmosphere

If you’re looking for All-You-Can-Eat sushi, I highly recommend this place! The quality is excellent for the price, and you’ll leave feeling full and satisfied. Sushi lovers won’t be...

I have been to this location a few times in the past. This time, we order the all you can eat menus. I have edamame and few selection of sushi options. I was enjoying food until I felt a hard piece of object stuck between my gum and teeth. I removed the object out of my mouth, inspected it and it was not good particle. It’s a thin hard sheet of plastic or a foreign object . We informed the waiter. He inspected and apologized and took the baked lasagna plate back and didn’t replace our food. Later on, I took some of the pickles ginger and chewing it, same thing happened, another piece of same type of material in my mouth. I removed the object and inspected and same kind of thing first found. Again we informed a different waitress, she apologized and left. My daughter was upset with me for complaining about the object in my food, she literally raised her voice with me. We argued over the situation, she said it’s a small matter I should just spit out and be quiet about it. She was adamant and said, I should have request to talk to the manager. After few minutes of our conversation. She was still upset and said it’s not a fine dine, it not a big deal. If it serve a purpose I should talk to the manager. So we requested to speak to the manager, the younger waiter left and didn’t return. After about 7 minutes, still no manger. But someone came with our bill, no manager coming to talk to us. I left the restaurant, I didn’t get to eat much, my daughter was still upset with me, saying it’s not the waitress nor waiters fault, I shouldn’t speak to them with set tone of voice. I didn’t yell nor cause any scene, simply trying to convey my concerns that there were foreign objects in the food served. That I was chewing them in my mouth. I ate it twice. I have been eating out at numerous places included this restaurant and the one in different locations. And I love it. I tipped well and understanding food well. I’m a chef myself. And anther thing. Waitress and waiter be talking over our drinks and food is not ok. They should passed the food and beverage safety handling with local health departments. When people talking over the foods, the particles of saliva landed on food. I’m very disappointed with the restaurant manager for not dealing with us. This location will not be honor by me anymore, Nor will I suggest any friends. It’s common...
