Five Below — Local services in Springfield Township

I am absolutely flabbergasted and beyond upset! My wife and I decided to visit Five & Below in Ontario, OH, to pick up a few things, but what we encountered was utterly disgusting! We've been to this store multiple times before, never expecting to be subjected to such blatant discrimination! My wife and I are very heavily tattooed and the only ones in there who were. The cashier told us that she needed to scan our items because of a "new policy", but when I questioned her about the self-checkout options, she simply shrugged it off and said "I'm sorry, it's just what I have to do". We reluctantly allowed her to scan our items, but what happened next left us pissed off! We noticed that she wasn't enforcing this so-called "policy" with anyone else! As we walked out of the store, we saw her through the window, and she thought we had left. That's when we saw her allowing every other customer to check by themselves! To make matters worse, I had politely mentioned my wife’s anxiety and expressed her preference to check out herself, but she completely disregarded my request. This experience was not only infuriating but also hurtful and embarrassing! It's absolutely ridiculous to assume that having tattoos makes someone a criminal or deserving of special scrutiny! Prices, cleanliness and employees are all great but BRING BACK CASHIERS!! I would stop here more often but having to check myself out is a no for me!! I was in there one day and elderly women came around the corner and when they saw no cashiers they weren't excited about it either!! My friend is disabled and I don't appreciate having to become a cashier to help them because your registers are self help only!! I don't care to wait for your greeter to see us needing help and struggling and only then being checked out!! JUST BE AT THE REGISTER SINCE YOU ARE EMPLOYING THESE PEOPLE...

My first time visiting this particular store, and sadly my review isn't a positive one. I've been part of the Five Below management team in another state and I have to say that I am completely surprised at how one of the associates at this location behaves. She was yelling "C'mon C'mon y'all have 5 minutes" and clapping her hands all the way from the registers to customers in the back of the store!
