I cannot begin to tell you how satisfied we were. Let me explain.
For more than 3 years my wife and I have been looking for bedding: a comforter, shams, euroshams, pillows etc for our bed. We went everywhere including the big box stores that did not have good selection. Even Target, which usually delivers decent products, appeared only to cater to the college crowd in this arena.
Well after going to local merchants, big box stores etc, we were convinced that we would have to go with a Dillard's comforter which came as a set with two shams, comforter and dust ruffle. The cost? $450. Then we would also have to purchase other accessories for easily another $300.
So after trying Bedding Mart and realizing they only sold beds, we stared at the Kohl's ahead of us and thought, do we dare enter. Well, we did. We went to the back and upon realizing that they had a sale going on, had stumbled across a decent blazer that I liked, and picked up. Then we made our way back to the back of the store where the bedding was, and our minds had us thinking that what we were looking at another run-of-the-mill comforter, but on second look it looked very nice. Looked Ralph Lauren-ish. Which it was- their Chaps brand.
After our enthusiasm waned- only because we had taken 6 or 7 comforters from online and in the stores- only to find they didn't work- we made it to the counter. We thought the price was going to be around $175, but the girl rang it up- $79!! Then she asked us if we wanted to open a card account- another 25% off!! Then a very kind manager- Rob, came up and said they had a special and would be another 15% off. Our total??? $54!!! I was amazed.
So we took it home. IT WORKED! We quickly made our way back to the store because he said the deal would be honored all day. We picked out 6 pillows to stuff the shams with (we had previous Euro shams that worked with the new bedding) and then the king shams that came with it. And we found two accessory pillows that looked great.
Total for the entire day? $134. ARGG! So that or the Dillard's price of $750 or more?? Give me a break. I am now a...
Read moreI placed an online order on November 15th for some clothes for me. They shipped through shipping partner Pitney Bowes on November 19th. On November 22nd the tracking info said they were delivered to my local post office to be delivered to me. After a few days of still not receiving my items, I contacted the post office who investigated and let me know that only did they not receive the package but they contacted Pitney Bowes who admitted to them that they updated in error and they still hadn't moved the package at all. I then tried to contact Pitney Bowes who said I needed to contact Kohls. I contacted Kohls who told me the package has to make no progress for 10 days before I could contact them. I waited the 10 days and then contacted them and was told to wait it was in progress of shipping. I told them that was unacceptable. And they said if I was willing to wait 24 to 48 hours and still hadn't received the package, they would replace the items or issue a refund. So I waited my 48 hours, no package came and in fact has still not moved from the original place. So I contacted them again. And the person told me I had to wait until December 9th. I again told them that was unacceptable. So she spoke with the manager and was able to issue me a refund without waiting. But it just happens to take 7 days and that just happens to be right around that December 9th date. But my order still shows in the system as completed. not refunded. I am a single mom who never buys myself anything. The one time I try to get me some clothes on a good sale they mess up my order. And by the time I have my refund it will have been over 3 weeks that they have had my money. And now I will have to pay full price which means I won't get as much for my money. This is the worst customer service I have ever received from a company. Especially considering I have spent over $600 at Kohls in the past 2 weeks. I love Kohls but this has really made me rethink where I will shop...
Read moreI debated about writing this, but felt I should share my experience. First off long time retail shopper in multiple markets ( CO,IL,MO). Immediately walking into the store all seemed good; carts were orderly, floor was clean, good to go. On my way to the mens section there was a metal cart in the aisle like they were restocking shelves I had to walk around it no big deal, I get to the mens section, as I'm shopping I start to realize that the store is in disarray, shirts had fallen off hangers that haven't been picked up, tables of shirts unfolded and piled up. I'm not talking 1 or 2 shirts entire multi level display tables with under armor shirts just piled up. Anyway I grab the shirt I was looking for it was on sale (we'll get there). Head over to shoes to see what they have available. Complete chaos; boxes of shoes everywhere! kids shoes mixed in with mens shoes, the static displays didn't match the shoes underneath, the way the sizes were organized made no sense to me. Clearance shoe section, of boy don't get me started. Anyway I gound what I needed and go to self check out. The shirt I thought was on sale didn't ring up correctly so I left the register and went to take a picture (attached) and headed back to a cashier this time to let them know the price was incorrect on the rack. at the cashier I'm then told that just "because it's on the rack doesn't mean thats the price". I agree, within reason if I found a sport coat on the pajama pants racks I would agree, but an entire rack of clothes that match the description is another story. So I show the cashier the photo she says to me this isn't flannel, looks its up on her little hand held device decides its not the correct item but is going to match the price anyway. There's more but i'm over this experience and ready to move on. Hope this helps someone else or gets in front of someone that can turn this...
