I recently had the misfortune of visiting Farm n Home on North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield, Illinois, and my experience left me utterly infuriated and frustrated. I must express my discontent with the abysmal customer service I encountered on two separate occasions, which occurred just a week apart.
During my initial visit, I had the intention of purchasing a brand new 50-inch Cub Cadet mower along with a 5x8ft utility trailer. Little did I know that embarking on this transaction would transform into an arduous ordeal. It took an excruciating thirty minutes for me to locate an employee willing to assist me. I approached a total of four individuals, and the level of incompetence and apathy I encountered was beyond belief.
The first two employees I encountered were not only rude but also displayed a blatant disregard for their customers. They hurriedly brushed me off, claiming they knew nothing about mowers and insisted that someone else would need to help me. They then promptly abandoned me, leaving me to fend for myself in my search for assistance. Frankly, if it hadn't been for the no-tax sale happening on that day, I would have promptly left the store and taken my $4000 elsewhere.
As if my initial experience wasn't disheartening enough, I decided to give Farm n Home another chance, hoping that the previous encounter was an unfortunate anomaly. I visited the store a week later to have a tire on my mower changed. To my dismay, I was once again greeted with what I can only describe as a textbook example of poor customer service. One of the employees at the mower shop dismissively informed me that they were too busy working on machines and refused to provide any tire-related assistance. This response left me dumbfounded, considering I had previously had multiple tires replaced at Farm n Home without any issues.
Let me be clear: I genuinely enjoyed shopping at Farm n Home in the past. However, the recurrent mistreatment and sheer lack of respect displayed by the staff have convinced me that this is not a place I wish to continue doing business with. It is evident that the employees at this establishment require extensive retraining on the fundamental principles of genuine customer service.
The unwarranted attitudes exhibited by the staff towards customers are not only disappointing but also detrimental to their own business. It is astonishing that Farm n Home allows such behavior to persist within its ranks. Treating customers with disdain is simply bad for business, and it is high time the management recognizes this fact.
In conclusion, based on my recent experiences, I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider their decision to shop at Farm n Home on North Dirksen Parkway. Until the staff undergoes a significant transformation in their approach to customer service, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant...

Read moreMy husband bought a pair of $300 boots here two months ago. They started falling apart at the seams about a week ago. My Husband went in to do an exchange. He dealt with the manager Sam this evening, and Sam made the process much more difficult than it had to be. Not only that, Sam had the nerve to complain that he had been at work since 9 AM (like that was some excuse for his lack of knowledge or lack of ability). Meanwhile, it’s only 4:30 PM at this time, and my husband had been at work, working outside, since 6 AM…. during a heat advisory.
It is not the customers job to help you do your job. Do your job without complaining, it’s what you’re getting paid for. Zero professionalism...
