I never have a problem selling here. Yes, there are a few times where I may decline the offer on specific items but thatās only because I know I can get more out of them elsewhere. No worries there. I feel that they offer me a fair price for the convenience of not having to resell everything on my own.
However, the store always smells so bad. Itās unbearable. I get it. Clothes smell funky especially when theyāre used and coming from all sorts of different homes... but use a strong air freshener that can mask it. A clothing store shouldnāt smell like chemicals or anything unpleasant in my opinion. Itās a huge turnoff.
From a shoppers outlook, the sales floor is a disaster. It always looks heavily shopped with broken hangers and clothing on the floor. I see a lot of employees coming through the aisles with this stuff on the ground and they just pass it. I donāt understand that from a prior retail workers aspect. A lot of the clothing is heavily worn, dated and low brands. The prices are inconsistent and sometimes higher than what you can pay new for. A lot of the flaws I see, are simple things like staining/holes/noticeable wear. I donāt ever find anything worth spending money on here.
From a customer service outlook, there needs to be major improvements. I feel like this location needs a strong leader directing and training the employees to provide consistency. A lot of times I wait at the counter to be checked in while thereās an employee not making any eye contact with me and just standing there. If everyone could at least be trained to say, āHow can I help you? ā or āSomeone will be with you momentarily.ā it would go a long way.
Lastly, it would be nice to see some sort of a dress code for the employees. So many times Iāve come in and Iāve seen sloppily dressed employees in athletic wear or extremely ill-fitting clothing. Iām not sure why someone needs to wear a shirt exposing your entire...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBrought in clothes to sell. I have worked in retail clothing stores & understand they have to be picky. They bought not one thing out of a very large box. At first, we were told it was because the clothes were old. I pulled out a pair of Rue 21 jeans with rips/holes that had been worn very little & are still the style as of TODAY (we just came from Battlefield mall). Then I was told they have a policy that the whole can't be bigger than your fist. When I pointed out that they had jeans that the hole was the entire thigh (1 hole was literally approx 11" long by 5" wide) she changed it to the holes were bigger than when originally purchased. Which, again, was not true. These were a stretch jean, and again, had almost no wear. Then she changed her story AGAIN, looked inside & said they can't take anything with stains on the inside. She didn't show me a stain, but said that's why she couldn't take them. I took the jeans outside into the light to look at them and there were ABSOLUTELY NO STAINS WHATSOEVER. They were discolored all over as thats how they were made & purchased brand new. And as everyone knows, discolored clothing (purposely made to be discolored by the manufacturer) is extremely in style right now.
The biggest problem I had was she just kept lying right to my face. Everything she told me was undeniably false, and since I had the jeans right there in my hand & showed her, she just kept changing her story. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. Extremely unprofessional and tacky is the only way to describe my visit today. I know its clothes for mostly teens, early 20's, but you need to get a competent adult on staff to show the kids working in there how to do customer service. Looking at your reviews, apparently I'm not the only one who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I had one of my worst experiences in a store of all time. It is Sunday afternoon before a hard school day tomorrow morning, today is my free day so I decide to go to this platos closet to sell my clothes in order to get money to buy necessities in my life. I walked in and was greeted fairly kind, the employees aren't the problem. I ask them to look at my clothes, they take them, but they tell me I must wait 2 hours, I don't have enough time to go home nor do I want to come back another day, so I stay. 2 hours later I am told that the computer systems have crashed. Platos closet has wasted 2 hours of my young life. I could've been doing anything else, yet I spend my time here selling clothes and waiting which ultimately led to nothing. I wasn't even mad until the employees did absolutely nothing to compensate for the absolute waste of my time and gas. The employees didn't even say sorry and did nothing at all to help our cause all that was done was a suggestion to come back tomorrow. Their should be some sort of policy that if for what ever reason platos is not able to make the sale or transaction while already promising to do so, such as a 10% off coupon or some sort of coupon that lets us come whatever time in the future and be given special priority to have my stuff looked at first because of my time previously being wasted. I expect that platos will do the right thing and fix this, and if not I will definitely not be making anymore trips to platos and will definitely tell all my friends not to shop there anymore more, and my friends go in there almost everyday. Platos, this is probably the most terrible way to handle this...
