I placed a fairly substantial sleeve order which included the "Fury of Dracula" sleeve kit. When the order arrived, the sleeves I was sent for FoD were too small because they do not fit the newest edition published by WizKids, and 2 packages of Euro sized sleeves were the cheap terrible ones instead of the premium ones I ordered (and paid for). I contacted customer service and they said they would replace the Euro sleeves no problem, but I would have to pay shipping on the replacement sleeves for FoD (even though I already paid shipping on the original "kit" which contained the wrong size sleeves).
It took a full day and 10 emails back and forth, and me asking to talk to his boss, before the customer service rep finally agreed to cover the shipping cost on these replacement sleeves. He just kept saying "I'm sorry for the inconvenience", and "that's our policy, so there's nothing I can do about it".
Finally, I needed 1 more package of the race sleeves which were $1.50 on the Mayday website but would cost $3.53 to have shipped to me for a total of $5.03. Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon and was able to get the EXACT same sleeves delivered for $3.84 and when they arrived it turns out they were shipped from Mayday games...
This was nearly a month ago, and I still haven't received my replacement sleeves because they're out of stock and should be in by the end of May. The error on the Euro sleeves wasn't that big of a deal because human error happens, but the terrible, obstinate customer service followed by the fact that there was such a price difference for the same item, shipped by Mayday when ordered through Amazon has made me leery about doing business with Mayday Games again...
Read moreI cannot speak to the quality of the items as I've never received them.
You know what else I haven't received? Good customer service.
Bored at home, I ordered card sleeves thinking they'd ship from their warehouse in Utah, as that's what is advertised on their website. Too bad for me I'm Canadian, and I came to find out some secret company policy dictates all international orders are drop-shipped from China.
In the middle of a pandemic. From the country that is the source. I ordered these because I'm bored at home, my Canadian supplier is out and I thought that I would actually get them.
Long story short, my tracking as well as representatives from this company have told me the items have shipped multiple times and every time they show up AGAIN in tracking as STILL in China (ordered April 2, last update was May 21 and they're 'leaving China' AGAIN).
They refuse refunds (which I did not ask for until May 23), as of this writing I've had to go to Paypal and plead my case, so their "100% customer satisfaction guarantee" doesn't actually apply. I guess because I'm Canadian? I dunno.
These guys might be great if you live in the USA, but if you're one of most people alive and DON'T, then don't bother with 'em. Find a local supplier, because the service here...
Read moreWanted to get Deadman’s Draw for some friends (it’s one of our favorite card games), and ended up buying 3 more because of the sale. So glad we did!!
Mayday games are well built. From the game box to the game components...the word ‘substantial’ fits the bill. Nothing flimsy here!!
....the games themselves are great, as well. Deadman’s Draw we’ve had for several years...it’s a game of chance, but some strategy comes into play. We’ve purchased it for several friends now.
Cahoots! is fantastic. It’s a mix of chess and Spades...with some twists along the way. You play individually, but each round you can join forces with another...or play against them. Easy to learn, and never a dull moment!!
Bad Doctor is another thinking game...but again, relatively easy to learn with a bit of strategic game play happening.
AssassinCon was the other purchase. I really enjoy this one, but my grown children didn’t care for it, as much.
Next up for purchase will be the Hero game.
Items arrived in a timely fashion...and well packaged.
Go get some MayDay games.... you...
