Tasty Treats Snack Shop — Restaurant in St. Louis

I was an excited customer that used to come from Belleville after work and pick up my food. Or sometimes I would call in an order ahead and ask my mother to pick it up for me. But she originally told about this place because her coworkers told her. All that to say, every one of us who have called and placed an order has had the same terrible experience. Rude short and annoyed sounding personnel taking orders, Not one comment of gratitude throughout the entire conversation, very abrupt and instead of asking would you like anything else or something more welcoming for you to add anything else from the menu, his question is “what else..?”. Although, I can say when you go to pick up your order-he keeps the same energy. No warm welcome, no greetings at all. Just “you ready to order?” And if you’re picking up and order, make sure you remember a total because if you didn’t volunteer your name he’s not going to ask. Like normal waiters (or people in that position).

But after receiving this treatment, I called to try and speak with management and was sarcastically directed to a Facebook page. So at that point I fold.

I’m not gonna say the food was bad because the food doesn’t reflect the people. But overall, I will not be patronizing this place ever again because of the poor customer service over the phone AND in person. Nor will the 5 other households that used to patronize this place. Placed two separate orders over the phone. Get to the restaurant and the orders are together. Ask the owner daughter to separate the bills and she gets an attitude. I resume by saying one is with cash one is with a card. She says " what you paying with?" i hold up the cash and the card. She huffs and says no. What payment is with each order... (lack of communication skills) i tell her how to separate the order and she mentions "we were out of hamburger meat so we didnt get to make that burger" I said to myself that i would never go back again because of the bad attitude. Few months pass and my job decides to go there so i say to myself ill give them another try. Experience was no better -owner had an attitude -i used my 10% off student discount for our order but it only covered one combo meal... she didnt even ask which one was my meal she choose the lowest priced meal which only took off $0.65 -there is no up to date changes on the menu online so it would be in your best interest to go in and order Food is good but attitude is horrible. Its hard supporting "black" businesses under conditions...

This is the second time I've gotten food from here, 1st time was the catfish combo with fries and it was certainly good. So I decided to try it again for lunch and I ordered the chicken Philly with fries and wanted to try the jalapeño poppers. Sorry didn't take a photo 🤣 but yep pleased again the bread for the sandwich was really soft and fresh. The chicken and contents were seasoned well and just enough. Good price point for what I received. The jalapeño poppers were fried good with good breading and had a great taste. Only thing I would say is they must bee eating as soon as you get them because if they sit to long, the cheese will not be as creamy but still no complaints about what I ordered. I would surely recommend trying for yourself. Ordering ahead of time is good for no long wait, my order was ready upon arrival with a time frame of about 15 minutes total from when order was placed. I'm a sucker for consistency when it comes to good food. Good Job Tasty Treats...
