I bought some items for my wife and myself. I particular, I bought an ATC Chameleon sport camcorder. The price seemed right at 39.00. However, I noticed that it shook in the box slightly, which is not good for electronic devices. I purchased it hoping for the best. Surely Marshalls wouldn't restock a broken device. I brought the camera home and charged it. I charged it for over 4 hours and evidently, the battery was bad because it would not hold a charge. The camera was dead on purchase. I went to return the camera and unfortunately, my wife (super neat freak) already threw the receipt away. The thing was, I used a Marshalls charge card for the purchase, so I know Marshalls has a digital record of the purchase. Marshalls would not give me a cash refund because I did not have the receipt. Even though they have the digital copy of who and what and when I made the purchase, they would not relent. The best they would do is give me a gift card. So this is where dishonest Marshalls revealed their ploy. 2 days later, I came in and saw the very same broken camera restocked. Better yet, this time they didn't include the accessories. So, the company knowingly sells broken items. Marshalls can't lose because even if a customer returns item all Marshalls will do is give a cash card, so Marshalls hooks you to spend more money. Dishonest. Avoid. Also, the people that work at Marshalls are treated poorly by management. So, don't expect good service. Expect service from someone that hates working...
Read moreJust beware if you are clothes shopping there's a good chance you won't be able to try anything on. There were at least 4 people in the store that I saw working but the dressing rooms were closed. I asked a manager if I needed to actually buy the 5 items I had to try on, go out to my car (tinted windows at least) and try them on, and then return them if they didn't work out ....and he said YES... I stupidly thought my question might make a manager feel stupid enough to open the dressing room himself for 5 minutes out of customer service shame but ...No. They asked if I couldn't just buy them and go home to try them on and then return them and I explained I lived 50 minutes away. That didn't matter either. He was not checking anyone out at the time but I went out to my car and tried on the items and then came back to return them all.
Said short staffed as usual but that excuse is wearing thin. This location randomly closes early whenever as well for the same reason. Somehow all other Marshall's or TJ Maxx in Louisville are able to work it out. I think they just don't want to fool with it if they don't have to and the manager doesn't care. One person in the store could have been doing the dressing room instead of stocking. There were at least 2 stockers out there I saw. I'll save myself the trip in the future and go...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite stores so I love spending time in here. I would say that I'm probably gone four times in the last week. I really appreciate that they always have a clean entrance. There's usually not much shoes or not many purses so that's a little disappointing. I do really like the make up and skin care section. You just have to be careful on the products that you're getting into your own research. I love the kitchen stuff too. I wish there was more Valentines and seasonal things out right now. It looks like they need a little help with staffing There's not a lot of products out, but there are some shelves and racks with clothes hanging on them that are out on the floor so I think generally they could just use a little bit more staff. Usually, everyone's pretty polite here. They've taken any returns instead of had easily and it's only I've gotten a jewelry box and when I got home, it had a crack in it, and they easily changed it for me and then one time I bought a face wash and then went next-door to Whole Foods and found a different one that was half the prize that had clean ingredients so I...
