I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at Woodhaven Bed and Breakfast for three nights and four days over my wedding weekend, and I am delighted to share my extraordinary experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that our hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable.
The Inn, a historic house built in 1852, beautifully combines its original charm with modern amenities, creating a unique and comfortable ambiance. The attention to preserving its originality is evident throughout the property, adding an extra layer of sophistication and authenticity to our stay.
Booking out the entire inn for our guests made our wedding weekend even more special. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, accommodating all our requests and ensuring everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. From organizing room arrangements to providing personalized recommendations for nearby attractions, their warm and friendly approach enhanced our overall experience.
One of the highlights of our stay was the thoughtful extras and add-ons offered by the Inn. The availability of wine in our room added a touch of elegance, allowing us to unwind and celebrate in the privacy of our own space. The choice to have a cheese board was a delightful option, perfect for snacking on during our downtime. However, what truly stood out was the unique and enjoyable whiskey tasting experience. It added a distinct touch of Kentucky culture to our stay, making it all the more memorable.
The hosts reside on the property. Their presence added an extra layer of warmth and attentiveness to our experience. Each morning, they treated us to a delicious and personalized breakfast. The breakfast menu offered a variety of mouthwatering options, allowing us to choose our desired meal. The assortment of tea, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages further complemented the morning meals, ensuring a satisfying start to our day.
They surprised us with their exceptional brunch offerings. The brunch showcases their culinary expertise, and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality and presentation of the dishes. It was undoubtedly one of the best brunch experiences we have ever had. The French toast served at breakfast was amazing, and the bacon was beyond perfection.
Their seasonal decor is everything. We had the opportunity to visit the property in the winter of last year, and we were blown away by how beautifully they had decorated for the upcoming Christmas season. They truly go above and beyond, with elaborate themes and displays. You could tell that they put a lot of effort into creating a magical atmosphere.
Additionally, their Halloween decorations were nothing short of impressive when we visited in the fall when we first fell in love with the place. Even when there isn't a specific season, the Inn ensures that the place is always picture-worthy, allowing guests to capture stunning photos as a memento of their stay.
The Inn at Woodhaven is its pet-friendly policy. They have a specific space for guests to stay with their pets for an additional expense, which we think is great. In our case, we brought our cats, and we were delighted that they could be a part of our wedding weekend and overall experience. While the main house is not pet-friendly, they do provide a room where pets are allowed. This shows their commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests, including those with furry friends. We stated in their cottage adjacent to the house itself. There is another building on-site that allows up to 2 pets as well.
It's important to note that there is limited parking at the property, so keep that in mind when booking, especially if you have a large number of guests joining you and are planning to rent out the entire bed and breakfast. While they have enough spots to cover the rooms, they don't have excess parking available. Additionally, while the property can be ADA accessible to certain areas. It's important to bear in mind that the building was originally built in 1852.
In conclusion, it is...

First, the bed was epically comfortable and I'm a pillow hoarder so it was exciting to have enough to choose from! The breakfasts were phenomenal; we stayed a few days and got to try a variety of superb choices. Special shout out to biscuits & gravy and the coffee--my husband isn't a coffee drinker but he looked forward to it every morning. And homemade pastries!
There were so many special personal touches, from a basket of snacks to a generous complimentary decanter of sherry. They have an lengthy liquor/bourbon menu too! And the hot tub on the back porch was a pleasant surprise.
We stayed in the Cuppola room so this is specific to that room only: I missed in the description that this room has a separate, private bathroom. There's no reason for anyone else to come upstairs to the sitting area adjoining room and bathroom, but I would have probably felt shy if someone was staying in the room below us. It's also worth noting that there is no standard shower in this room, it's a European-style handheld attachment to the tub.
HOWEVER, the reason I picked the room was because I love soaking tubs and the jetted tub in the bathroom was more than I hoped for--it fit both of us and we're not small. So even though Jeremy was amenable to moving us to a different room if we wanted I'm glad we stayed!
The only other thing I can think to mention is that this is located in a very convenient but residential suburban area, so the house has a number of nice apartment complexes surrounding it--your window may be right across from someone's apartment. The inn buildings themselves, though, including multiple comfortable porches, are a self-contained bubble of everything you hope for...

Jeremy and Mark have a beautiful B&B and the attention to detail will exceed any expectation. My husband and I stayed 5 nights in the Rose Cottage for his 50th birthday in early September. The amazing cottage was comfortable and quiet with everything needed for our stay. The main house is beautifully appointed and decorated and your hosts think of every detail. Nice touches included flavored whiskeys and treats made by Mark available in the common area at all times. The breakfast available each morning (prepared by Mark) was amazing and the menu is diverse enough to cater to any taste. Jeremy and Mark are truly passionate about Louisville and Jeremy provided awesome suggestions for tours, dining, and other activities. Jeremy also keeps a fine selection of bourbons in-house and his Black Walnut Old-Fashioned is a must try!||Jeremy and Mark have forged relationships locally that can give your stay something extra, as well. We booked the Birthday Package, which included a bouquet of flowers, delicious cake from an established local bakery and two of the Black Walnut Old Fashioned’s. We also added on the Angels Envy Package which was well worth the money! It included two leather covered glasses, a giftcard to a local steakhouse that has an amazing assortment of whiskeys, a special bottle of Angel’s Envy and two tickets to their distillery tour. Which ended up being one of our favorite, and most informative tours of our stay. ||My husband and I found Inn at Woodhaven to be absolutely spectacular and we were already booking our next stay within two weeks of being home.
