I will start by saying I have shopped here dozens of times and have been one of their biggest fans since they opened. I have purchased numerous pairs of shoes and countless clothing items here of which I love. After my visit today, I do not plan to shop here again.
I asked to try on one item. No associate was near the fitting room, so I went to the front to ask and they sent someone back. There was no other customers waiting for assistance to try on and all rooms were free. The associate showed me to a fitting room. I was shopping with my 8 month old child who was in his stroller. I kindly asked if there was a larger space for me to use. They said no. I asked about the ADA fitting room knowing it could accommodate the stroller. They said no again, but rang the manager.
A manager then came to the fitting area. Mind you there is no one there but me and the associate and no one waiting. I kindly asked again if I could use the larger space because I was uncomfortable leaving him outside of the room alone (which no one should have to do). They said I did not have any requirements for the ADA room and that I could not use it. I asked what I was suppose to do with my child while I was to go into a smaller room where he could not fit. They did not have an answer. If a customer with a wheelchair needed the space, OF COURSE I would have waited for it or let them go first. But again, I was the only one in need of a room.
I immediately decided I would not be purchasing anything or trying on today as I would not be leaving my child unattended in the center of a fitting space. If he was older or could sit up on his own, I would have felt comfortable taking him out of the stroller and placing him on the floor in the smaller room. As he cannot sit up on his own at this age, this was not an option for us.
Overall, Iâm beyond disappointed with the way we were treated today. As a company who proudly says they are accommodating to all really showed that was not the case today.
Mothers with small children are not welcome here or accommodated in...
Read moreWell here we are... opening day about 5pm and thereâs still a waiting line to get in so thereâs one in one out so theyâre controlling the traffic flow in these covid times! Thatâs great! Kiddos! They have hand sanitizing stations throughout and masks if you donât have one- another great effort and kudos! All of the staff SUPER friendly- check! Weâre batting one thousand! Oh yea... The Shoe selection- yes, itâs large and impressive until you get to the larger sizes. Although here this selection is much larger than in most other stores within 150 mile radius but those piggies just have a tough time. Thanks Zappos for making the effort... you did GREAT! The two sections of games on the floor to occupy the little people - good thinking and great job! The clothing selection is rather small and bottom heavy-literally. Lots of pants. Not a large menâs section but itâs better than nothing. The childrenâs clothing section is even smaller but surely it will grow?? Letâs hope. There is a large empty section in the front of the store where a couple of mannequins are hanging out. Hopefully theyâll utilize that space to add two chairs or four for all of the sig others that were accompanying those that know and have come to love what Zappos is so about. Which brings me to a close. If you are new to Zappos go and enjoy the experience. Itâs fun and youâll really like some of the fun deals that youâll sneak up on. If youâre an old head like me thatâs been going to Zappos for more than 20 years, youâll enjoy the ease and comfort of it being in your back yard. Itâs crisp and clean but itâs not what you remember from back in the day so donât look for that. Just remember the inventory probably changes daily so add it to your to do list... go early, go often, get great...
Read moreToday while in the new Zappos at Mall St. Matthewsâs my 3 adult daughters and 2 grand daughters and I were having a girls shopping day to celebrate the oldest granddaughterâs birthday. We actually all had items we were buying because of a great 1 day boot sale. The youngest granddaughter who is 18 months old was enjoying the lighted floor game laughing and giggling that also was occupying her so mommy could shop . A security guard literally came up to us and asked us to keep her quiet and stop her from laughing so loud because others were complaining!!!! Really? What is wrong with our world that we donât want to hear a child laugh and have a good time? We were so taken by what the security guard said that we put down all of the items and left. That was very rude and I should have asked for a manager but was in such disbelief and so confused. If you do not want kids to enjoy your store then donât put such things that are fun and attention getting in there! I wish I would have gotten the security guards name because I would do a complaint on her! Definitely not a kid...
