Went in on Saturday morning, to a total circus. Seemed that the range was "running the store". The gentleman who was the range master was instructing a person, the line was growing and growing. At one point, another employee came over to offer assistance finally, and didn't even know where the forms were ( already on counter) to assist the clients that were there. Three other employees came along and tried to figure it out.... no one knew what to do. Mass pandemonium. No place to sit and wait for a turn in the range, people standing around everywhere, causing the counter to be lined with patrons who were only there for range time.... great for range ! Bad, for the person who's there to purchase a product.
I was there to purchase a firearm, and asked to fire the model before I made a final decision. The sales staff said, sure, try it and see what you think, you will have to shoot a rental model -- cannot shoot a new one. " No problem..... Was handed the rental, a few rounds, and 15 minutes later, was issued a bill for $53.00 to shoot the weapon I inteneded to buy. Now, I understand rental, and I understand business, owning one myself. But, this is not the way to serve a new client, one who was ready to spend $1000.00 that morning. At the front counter, I was addressed with " well, Im sorry you fired the gun and used the lane." Sadly, the rental gun I was given wasn't even the gun I had intended to buy, only after inside the range area, did we know that it was the incorrect model. The staff didn't even know what firearm that we had chosn with the sales member who helped us...Poor communication....
As most of the staff was eating their chick fil A lunch on the counter, one particular man offered me back $8.00 that they charged for my shooting companion to assist me with the new firearm. Then, said, nohting I can do, I don't know what's going on back there", sorry. REALLY ? The sales staff at the Army Navy store are knowledgable about their products and came highly recommended from a friend.
Seriously, people, eat lunch in the break area, get someone in charge of your range, get organized, and don't charge someone $53.00 to try what they wanna buy. They could learn alot from the range/ store we bought from in Covington, GA. The policy there, is try before you buy, and no fees are due. The range is spotless, organized, and operates very well with no confusion.
I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone EVER. BAD experience.... but if you have $50 or so to toss out in 15 minutes, and to be told, sorry.... even when you have money to spend --- this...
Read moreI go in here a lot, they have hunting equipment, flackjackets, some camping equipment, guns, gun accessories, the people that work there are nice and professional with plenty of knowledge to help the customer with all the customers needs and they really take care of the customers, for example, I bought a 9mm Jimenez Model J.A. NINE which for a reliable cheap secondary pistol for $175 is great, they were more than happy to let me try out my new gun on their gun range but I had to come back because it was 10 minutes until closing so I went back, the great thing was I took my mom with me to shoot on Wednesday which is women's day every Wednesday so women shoot for free but they were closing, Carl told me to bring her back tomorrow and talk to him so I did which means she still got to shoot for free and when the ammunition was steam piping or not cycling properly, they sold me great ammo for cheap that works perfectly in the gun which I would have expected to spend more than $14 on Lugar ammo which I took my mother to shoot so I put a lot of rounds through that gun that day which the ammunition they sold me which I bought in bulk they took 4 dollars off per box of 50 which was great. I the bought myself a Canik TP9SF from them along with 2 in pants holster, ammo, a 3 ammo clip belt holster, pants and a tactical holster which they gave me a free hour to use the range, gave me a better deal on the gun because I paid cash for it and so they really take care of their patrons, they really have it together and when they get their shipment of shoulder holsters, I'm...
Read moreReally love the range. I've never been in on a day when I had to wait, we usually go in the afternoons on weekends. Staff is always friendly and funny. I'm not sure what to think about the review where someone was charged $53 to try out a gun. We brought several of our own, had two adults and one child in my party, stayed on the lane for more than one hour, rented a gun for my son to shoot, got 50 rounds for it, and I don't think we paid $40.
I haven't really shopped ammo or guns there, so I can't comment much on prices. It's pretty laid back, so you can feel very comfortable in store. I saw guys on the range make some mistakes (not safety issues) and staff was there to help them. I'm pretty sure they weren't even paying for lessons, just beginners using rented firearms and the staff was happy to help. All the spent rounds were being pushed under the stalls ever couple of minutes by a...
