Cecilia is amazing! As a bride I recommend 100%. I bought my wedding gown from a famous designer’s website but when it got to me it was super loose! At this point we are 3 weeks away from the wedding, so I searched up to find where I can have it altered. I found Amira’s at the end of the day so I gave them a call and Cecilia still answered. This being such a short notice she did not overpromise and asked for photos first to assess if it’s worth setting an appointment for and if she can finish it before the wedding. During our first appointment she inspected the gown and explained to me in details what she needs to do and how much work it needs. I admit I was shocked how much it costs to have everything altered (waist, shoulder, skirt length) but this is only because I am not familiar with the craft. She helped me understand exactly why the cost is justified + it’s a rush project. We agreed on the price with no problems and she scheduled the next 2 fittings right away, the 2nd being the pick up day. The rest of it was smoothsailing and my gown fitted me amazing for the wedding! The expensive price was worth it to make up for my carelessness to buy my gown online so close to the wedding day. I am just super thankful she took my dress in and worked on it despite how ridiculous the deadline was. It’s because of her that I was able to wear my wedding dress perfectly for the wedding! Cecilia made everything so comfortable and amazing at the same time. I was so nervous coming in - I had went to 3 dress shops previously and I felt uncomfortable with my body, and the dresses in stock felt like no match to a typical body that dress shops would normally keep (size 2 - 10). When I went to her shop, the dresses didn’t make me feel uncomfortable whatsoever, instead I felt like the dresses fit me. Cecilia understood my wants and I got the dream dress that I wanted and was willing to pay for everything, including alterations and the dream veil that I longed for. To add to her exceptional work, her alterations for bustling were A1. She showed my godmother and MOH how to bustle my dress with ease. She is very exceptional with her craft and you will not regret her service! She was flexible with payment as well, and all brides know that wedding prices are never cheap. Payment plan was provided with ease; Communication is key for sure, but as long as you keep that, everything will go smoothly. Loved working with Cecilia to get my wedding dress altered. After getting two sky-high quotes from seamstresses in Sacramento, I called Amira’s and she got me in the same day to look at the dress and gave me a range of options for tailoring. One seamstress in Sac gave me a $2000 quote for all the things I “had” to alter on my dress (which I got second hand for $300!), and when I asked Cecilia about these same adjustments her answer was “it’s your dress and your wedding and we can do whatever you want to your dress. Nothing has to happen unless it’s what you want.” Sold!! My dress had complicated beading and Cecilia found a way to take the bust in without cutting or re-beading it, saving time and money.
