The store itself is very clean and have a lot of candy options whether it's chocolate, sours, or seasonal items. BUT my issue was with the older woman working the register probably about 60-70 years old and her name was Peggy..... You work in a candy store. If a child comes in and walks around and makes some noise you should be okay with it. My daughter is only 2 years old, NOTHING went into her mouth while in the store. She was just excited to be in Malley's. My mother visiting from out of town wanted to stop in and we bought a GOOD amount of chocolates and Easter goodies. But on Saturday March 23 around 3pm the store was a bit busy and PEGGY looked at my daughter and said "I'm a grandmother so I know why your daughter is so crazy" FIRST off..... calling a 2 year old that you don't know crazy is uncalled for. Mental illness is a real thing and my daughter is not crazy. Happy and excited yes, but crazy NO!!! They really need to hire personable people or just people who can handle a busy store. I don't care if your store got busy.... It's the weekend before Easter so be prepared and don't get frustrated and DO NOT call a 2 year old crazy. Malley's...
Read moreLack of store management made a bad situation worse today. Once the delivery arrived, no attempt was made to keep order. The boxes were simply brought out to the crowd and the frenzy began, with no prioritization of those that had waited almost an hour, or those holding small children, etc.
No excuse for this from a company that should know how to do this right. I waited this time, but will never invest my time and...
Read moreI grew up in Lakewood, so Malley's has been a big part of my life since the 60's. While passing through the area on a vacation recently, we were first time visitors to a location other than the location at Madison and Victoria in my hometown. We were pleasantly surprised to find the same selection of sweet treats as the Lakewood store, along with the same friendly and helpful staff. Don't miss the Molasses Honeycomb and the Raspberry Honeycomb chocolates when you visit; they aren't sold in the online store, so we actually detoured on our trip to Michigan to pick up some of each. Malley's has been known forever for their quality chocolate, and if you've never been to their store you're missing out on a...
