I had the worst experience with Mimi's Bridal. I went in for a fitting for bridesmaids dresses as the maid of honor in a wedding. After choosing a dress they took my measurements and told me I would be getting a size 18 dress because that would leave plenty of room for altering, the owners words (I typically wear a size 12 dress/pants but understand that formal dresses are usually very different). We picked up the dress and it was a size 22; no one had called us to say they were ordering a bigger dress, we had received absolutely NO receipts even after paying for the dress in full so we were stuck with this size 22 dress with a full 8 inches between my body and the side of the dress. All of the other maids also received bigger dresses than they were told would be ordered, I think it's a scam to make you pay for altering. We went to several other dress shops to get fitted by the same size guides for the brand and style of the dress I ordered; all of the shops said they would have ordered me a size 18 which would have had 3 inches to take in at the smallest measurement. The staff at Mimi's were very rude and difficult to work with. The owner persistently told me that she "has never made a mistake in her life" and that her husband had ordered the dresses according to my sizes. When I went in to measure for alterations, the owners husband laughed out loud at me for saying I just didn't believe the breast areas of the dress could be brought down to my size. I tried to be courteous without raising my voice are getting hostile and these people made me cry! The only redeeming thing about this hole of desperation is the young lady working at the front desk who was actually accommodating and polite, I sure hope she finds a job somewhere that can actually retain customers! I would NEVER recommend this to any of my friends or enemies; if you are desperate enough to go there make sure you have a written contract stating what size she said you would have order like a professional dress shop so she doesn't do this to you. I was at Mimi’s yesterday looking for my dress for my wedding next year and honestly did not enjoy a minute of it. I was sooooooo excited to go as they have beautiful dresses but when I got there I was told because dresses were not my “size” I couldn’t even look at them to buy which is insane because obviously you can make any dress a size. I am not a big girl but at the beginning comments we’re made that I was and my bridesmaids there were told they could only look at a rack of a few dresses for me. We all came to look at dresses including bridesmaids and not once did they offer us to look at any bridesmaids dresses. The lady i worked with kept picking dresses she thought I would like even tho I didn’t say I wanted that style of dress. My bridesmaids actually picked out a dress that changed my opinion and made her let me try it on. Then she picked out a dress that she thought I would love and I did love aspects but not all of it. Not once did she offer to change the bottom (like they advertise) she was dead set on arguing (not in a rude way but just wouldn’t take an opinion that wasn’t hers) with everything my bridesmaids said about what they disliked about the dress because all she cared about was selling me this dress not a dress I loved. I was never offered a veil to look at any accessories anything. Once I said no to that dress they practically walked us out the door. Nothing was professional and staff are not trained well as compared to bridal stores I went to later in the day where i found my forever dress. I was very let down because I was so excited to go wedding dress shopping here and instead I was basically body shamed and told I couldn’t even look at all of the dresses. I was never measured so she was putting me in sizes that she thought fit me (size 20) & the dress she picked in size 20 had a corset and was still so big she had to put pads in the back for it to not be huge and falling off of me. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Do not waste your time with this place. I went there and picked out and bought my dress the same day. I first asked them Via Instagram if they had any long sleeve dresses. No response .. I went ahead and made an appointment because I did see long sleeve ones on their page.. when I got there I kept saying I wanted a long sleeve dress. I was brought many dresses and none of them were long sleeve despite me mentioning it three times. I ended up finding a dress I loved and figured I could just add sleeves to it later. Got the dress and paid for it, then they sent it off to get it made for my size. When I got it back everything fit except for the straps (like extremely loose) and when I mentioned this at my fitting they said oh it’s okay you can always just get it altered for another $99… 👀 👀 is that not what we just did???? I waited 6 months for it to come back… okay then.. I decided to message mimis privately instead of leaving them a bad review. They looked at my message and left me on read for 6 days so I messaged them and said, well i guess a little feedback would have been nice.” Then they responded finally after me sending that .. so on Friday at 4:36 pm they called me (13 minutes before they closed) and the call was not expected because they did not tell me they were calling so I missed it .. they did leave a voicemail .. a slightly rude one, and said to call back on monday Feb 14th. I called back twice on Monday and no one answers. So I sent them a message asking them when a good time to call back would be. They looked at my message and then just never responded. I waited until February 25th and still no response… so I sent them another message and now it’s March 1st and they just wont open my message but they can post all day on tik tok, Facebook, and Instagram. Ok .. do not recommend this place at all.. hands down the most unimpressive and worst experience...
