I was convinced to spend the extra $300 on “goof proof” because it will cover “any damage done to the furniture”. I asked specifically if it covered scratches from animals, knowing furniture has been scuffed by my cat’s nails catching on the fabric in the past. The sales associate said, “Yes, you can get a whole new couch out of it if needed!”. We put in a claim months ago about a dent in the recliner. Someone came out to look at it and said he needed to order some parts and will be back. A week later, I received an email saying the claim was “resolved”. I called and said no, nothing was resolved. The person said he would be back because he needed to order some parts. The representative one the phone said, “oh, we’ll it looks here that the damage is just a dent in the foam and nothing mechanical, so we can’t fix that”. So the claim was marked resolved, and nothing was fixed. I put in another claim regarding some tears in the furniture from claws of animals. Denied. So essentially I was straight out lied to from the sales associate, given the run-around from the claims department, and I’m left feeling like I was scammed out of extra money. VERY frustrating.
Edit (reply to owner's comment): I appreciate the response and that additional information was provided about goof proof - this information; however, was printed in little font at the end of our receipt, and was not given to us until after the purchase. I would also like to reiterate that I had asked if a specific thing was covered, and was told it was by the associate who sold us the sectional. I have this associate's name on the receipt if needed. I purchased the goof proof under the understanding that someone who works for the company would be giving us accurate information regarding the product we are purchasing. If it wasn't for this confirmation, we would not have spent the additional funds for the goof proof. I hope you can understand our frustration in being lied to, and the residual feeling of being scammed out of additional funds. If we could receive a refund for the goof proof, since it does not cover what we purchased it for and we were mislead, I would feel differently, but I know the chances of that happening...
Read moreWe had a great experience purchasing a new bed for our teenage daughter on Sunday! We had already been to every furniture store in our town (we live about an hour away) and our daughter didn't find what she wanted. She found a bed online that she liked, but I wasn't comfortable purchasing online without seeing the quality of the bed since return shipping is expensive and I was not familiar with the company that was selling it.
Bob's was our 3rd furniture store in Erie yesterday. In the 2 prior stores, we had been greeted, but nobody had followed up with us or asked us any questions. When we walked into Bob's, we were immediately greeted by a pleasant young lady named Vanessa. While she was asking questions about what we were looking for, our daughter found a bed she absolutely loved. Unfortunately, the bed she found was only available in King and Queen. We were looking for a full - based on the available space in her room. We even measured the Queen to be sure and it was just going to be a bit too big. Of course our daughter was disappointed but we continued to look based on a couple of suggestions that Vanessa gave us. Our daughter didn't like any of those. But, while we continued to look, Vanessa brought over an iPad with a picture of a full bed that was very similar to the one that our daughter liked but was too big. That was the one! We ordered it and felt comfortable purchasing sight-unseen since there were other comparable quality beds on the floor that we had been shown. Vanessa explained all of the financing and delivery options thoroughly. Our daughter can't wait until the bed arrives and is very happy already!
My husband and I both work in sales and have for over 20 years. Vanessa is an absolute gem. If we didn't live so far away, we would have definitely wanted to recruit her! This wasn't a great big sale for a furniture store purchase, but Vanessa certainly made us feel like we were important. She listened to what our very picky teen wanted and showed up with a solution. Nobody else had done that for us. Kudos to you 👏. That's...
Read morePurchased whole living room set and dining room set Last experience and purchase we couldn't pick up our own furniture . Delivery and product very difficult, damaged 3 times took forever to get . Customer service is terrible with contacting and very condescending. We paid to have it delivered, and the first room drop off. They didn't even do that. they left it in our yard. Not happy at all. This time the salesman Nick was a great person, very pleasant and easy to deal with. Manager who ever not so much. Looking to purchase 3 mattress, 2 adjustable and 1 complete bedroom set. Cash in hand both times. Was told from last time they would make it right on our next purchase if we gave them another shot. Well, after 1.5 hours of finding and picking everything out, time comes to talk numbers and finalize. So , we picked and 6-9 months to get. So we changed the bedroom set more expensive next step up. Which wasn't too bad, roughly $700 more. Then, I asked about working with the price or delivery something due to our last adventure problems, and having spent a fair amount on both. Nick said he couldn't his manager could. Well not so much we were told that's the cheapest and he won't do anything and was welcome to shop at the competition. So we left unfortunately wasted Nick's time who probably gets commission and his pompous manager who don't care because he's salary. In the 10 minutes of us leaving received a phone call and 2 messages saying they would drop the price which would have covered the delivery how convenient. So we did what we were told went to the competitor's and found everything we needed at furniture row and Denver mattress . 1 weeks time for delivery and setup covered. No 3rd chances hope Nick finds a better...
