In Pittsburgh, Giant Eagle is the dominant supermarket chain. Wegman's is essentially Market District, but a bit fancier and with more ready meal options. Its a nice grocery store. Great layout, clean, loads of options, and a good place to eat your food attached to the store. Good drinks and fair prices for the food, or at least most of the food. Microwaves available to reheat frozen items. I came here looking for a ready meal. There's a lot to choose from. Some items include sushi, Peruvian chicken, pizza, dumplings, Mac n cheese, manicotti, spaghetti with meatballs, sandwiches, soups, salads, and so much more. You'll find something that sounds interesting. I ended up trying a bit of everything. I got a sushi platter to split, a small cup of chicken noodle soup, pork dumplings, fruit, and a white pizza. Surprisingly, the pizza was actually very good! It was cheesy and the portion was quite large for the price. A good choice for sure. Someone else in the store had to wait for a while for their pizza, though, and I heard them complaining. So, do take note that some customs orders might take a bit of time. The chicken noodle was extremely underwhelming. It looked like they were out of soup, but I asked for some and they gave me it. Friendly employees. But, the portion was far too small for the price (about $6 I think). I'd rather have gotten crab salad or something like that, which cost about the same amount. Almost flavorless. The dumplings were quite good. Probably not authentic, but I really liked them. Good amount of dough, but not too much, and tasty meat. I liked the dipping sauce they served it with (light sweetness). The sushi was adequate, too, but not impressive at all. Shrimp tempura and shrimp nigiri were my favorite. The fruit was not ripe and left a lot to be desired. All in all, a pretty good grocery store and mini restaurant. The menu of prepared items is extremely broad, and you'll almost surely find something that catches your eye. The pizza was my favorite item, but the dumplings were quite good too.

I’m not local to this store, so this is a place I never shop at. I haven’t been at this location in ages so I wanted to stop while I was in the area and get thankful produce. The prices here remind me of pricing you’d find at Whole Foods, so it’s not inexpensive. I shopped sparingly since the pricing was more than what I’m used to at Aldi or other local grocers. They had a wide variety of premade items, valeting items, and all other goods. I found it easy to find things I wanted to try out that I don’t normally see. We spent an hour in the store and didn’t even make it through the whole store. It was clean and the store had a friendly environment. I did buy a few things that were overpriced for what I’d usually pay, but I wanted to let my children pick out things they would eat and that were healthy. I would definitely come back. I think my favorite part of the experience was the pregnant moms/parent of young children parking spots. I had my 3 week old with me and the weather is still cold so the time he spent in the cold weather was minimal thanks to this!

Enough oil to justify an invasion: Wegman’s subs are remarkably, period. They cost more than their fast food counterparts, but make up for it in quality of bread and ingredients. However, if you request their special submariner oil (definitely would recommend) they will always drown your sandwich until it is more oil than sandwich. Explicitly asking for less oil doesn’t seem to help either. This picture shows what my sandwich looked like after a 5 minute drive to get home. It crossed the paper wrapping around my sandwich, the paper bag shown, and the paper bag I had my other groceries and unto the surface of my trunk… …Okay so I took two bites out of my sandwich and the oil stain in my trunk feels like a fair sacrifice for this level of flavor.

I love Wegmans! Everything is clean and bright; the aisles are open and lack pillars that make them smaller (unlike other stores that limit traffic via poor design.) Instead of long aisles that go from the front to the back of the store, the aisles are subdivided in the middle (outside of the extremely open produce section, the pharmacy, and the perimeter of the store) which allows one to change direction quickly to navigate from one section to another. They have an amazing allergen-free, gluten-free, and dairy free selection although sometimes there are more choices in the pasta aisle, in the baking aisle, and near the butter/margarine areas that are not in the dedicated plant-based sections of the store. There is an area of shelf-stable goods as well as frozen goods. They have an amazing meat selection that includes bison, lamb, and seafood galore in addition to the normal staples of beef, chicken, and pork. Their seafood selection includes Chilean sea bass, mussels, clams, shrimp, tilapia, cod, and at least three more kinds of fish in the freezers. I am not familiar with the fresh deli seafood area at this time or the deli meat section, which may have more choices. Wegmans has nearly everything available in their store brand and I find myself saving hundreds of dollars with the store discount card as I restock my kitchen. The employees wear bright colors and are always friendly when we speak; I have witnessed deli workers cheerfully explaining the stock to patrons and I have not met an unpleasant cashier yet. I have been a regular for half a year and this is the only store I go to; Giant Eagle has a patheti-sad selection of food -- I think Aldi has more gluten-free than they do (at least, an Aldi from St. Louis.) The store is always inviting and I find the plant displays amazing -- they offer both potted plants and cut flowers. I would find it impossible to live without this store since I am grain-free, sugar-free, nightshade-free, and dairy-free. It is the store with the widest selection of foods that meet my dietary restrictions. I look forward to seeing more wholesome Wegmans products that tick all these boxes as they seem to add more every month! They also have an enormous freshly made to-go section that I personally cannot sample but I can tell you that it appeases my foodie eyes and makes me wish they made things that were gluten-free, if not rice-free. They have soup, salad, pizza logs, breaded chicken, macaroni and potato salad, seasoned broccoli (boo @ butter), sushi, egg rolls, stir fries, spaghetti, and who knows what else -- all ready for you to grab-and-go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It all looks so delectable! There is a bakery, too, which is near the entrance, where they sell donuts, cakes, pies, muffins, and bread. I haven't tried those, either, but sometimes I shop for a very picky eater who happens to approve of the sweets. This is my one-stop shopping spot since they have all my staples. And, if one goes frequently enough, one can find seasonal items on clearamce, as well. Thank you, Wegmans! My transition to living in Erie would be miserable without you. Their hours of 7 am to midnight have proven immensely helpful as I prepare food for an entire week at a time and find myself running out of ingredients as late as 10 P.M. All in all, there is no competition when it comes to this store and my diet. Thank you again Wegmans. You are an outstanding brand and I look forward to many years...

Wegman's is an awesome, upscale grocer. Upon entering, the produce department will wow you. The fresh and even local selection of items is appealing, it's a compliment to local farmers. You can NEVER go wrong with one of their made to order subs, whether having a picnic at the beach or ordering them for a graduation party. The sub party platters offer a great variety for everyone's taste, plus the sides of relish, pickles and onions will satisfy everyone's specific needs. There are an array of tasty prepared meals made in house which hit the spot and are great in a pinch. Offering everything from Asian, Italian, bbq, sides and many more, every item is made to satisfy. I've served them for a small group of friends and also grabbed one when not wanting to cook, my favorites being the Chicken French with Lemon Butter Sauce and the Mushroom & Truffle Naan Pizza. The cheese department is definitely something to brag about..too many things to say and taste. The knowledgeable staff with their perfect recommendations are always a PLUS. I always buy their pairing trays, offering a choice of new tastes, adding Marcona almonds or caramelized pecans is an added bonus. I hate to combine the seafood and meat departments in my comments, but both equally excel in quality, presentation and taste, along with a staff that goes above and beyond. The fresh fish selection and ready to cook seafood with recommendations are a scrumptious choice. My favorites are the fresh sea bass and the ready to cook Teriyaki Black Pepper Salmon (yummy). Moving onto the meat, it is never ending with fresh choices-organic grass fed to prime. I believe that they offer the best quality of meat in the Erie area...so many personal favorites here! Ready to cook Garlic Studded Ribeye, marinated chicken breasts and things and organic grass fed lamb chops are a few of the exquisite items, that are frequently in my cart. Your senses will be tempted by the glorious aromas from the bakery, and rightly so. The bakers are always creating fresh sensations. Offering full and half loaves of bread is great for accommodating guests, and the organic rosemary sourdough bread is heavenly. The desserts are to die for! From the Ultimate Double Chocolate Chip Cookies to the Lemon Bars or a whole seasonal flavored cheesecake, I have never had a bad bite or a leftover from a bakery item. Wegman's overall grocery items offer everything imaginable, including ethnic selections found nowhere else in Erie. I always choose Wegmans brand when it is available, the quality and price are right on to satisfy my tastes and budget. Wegman's is my favorite place to grocery shop, from the minute I walk in the store to the friendly conversations with my cashier's when I check out, I can honestly say that Wegman's gets 5 stars with each and...
