We were traveling back home to Buffalo from Pittsburgh from a mini vacation and decided on Longhorn cause there was no wait compared to the other options nearby we looked at. We were seated within 1-5 mins by the bar. Our server seemed ok but having a busy night. He was good on refills for drinks but when brought out bread we realized we never got silverware so we asked the guy who brought out our appetizer at least for a knife and never came back. We had to wait on our server to come back nearby for silverware while working on our appetizer which was delicious. Our meals came out and our steaks were not what we ordered in terms of how they were cooked. I asked for medium rare and my boyfriend asked for medium. Mine was so rare I was afraid to eat it. They got my remake back to me and it was medium which at that point I didn’t want to ask for another remake because we were tired and just wanted to get back home. My boyfriend’s first dish was medium rare and he wanted medium. They remade his and it was as rare as my first dish. They brought a THIRD out for him and it was half medium rare half medium (which idk how that happens but that’s how it looked like). At that point the server seemed frustrated with us when it wasn’t even our fault. I don’t know if we came on a bad night but even so, it shouldn’t take away from the experience regardless if in a local or someone traveling that’s stopping in for food. I get the check and they did comp us for the one steak dish but still charged me the up charge on mine for mushrooms and onions when I never received onions and mushrooms on my steak. Needless to say, we will be avoiding this location when passing through Erie, PA. Being that I review a lot of dishes in Buffalo, NY this is absolutely absurd and appalling to have...
Read moreJust a bad experience from the start. We have been a couple times to this location. This time around put the nail in the coffin as we will never return. Will definitely not recommend to anyone.
We came with a party of 11. Kids and adults at around 7:45. Hostess greeted us at the door. Restaurant was empty. We told her a party of 11 (we called at 6:00pm to make reservations, someone told us to come in an hour and it should be more clear by then). Hostess completely left us rudely to say I need to get a manager.
After 15 minutes of no acknowledgment from ANYONE, we were finally seated. The server came, was very polite but seemed like in a rush. We ordered our appetizers and food. They came out at the SAME TIME. We were a little disturbed as there was no room on the table. We mentioned this to another server and she replied (extremely rudely, really rude) that the cooks are cleaning the kitchen and it's late and they want to leave. (It's not even 9pm yet). There were 4 other tables there and they all received their dinners and apps seperate from each other.
Well, needless to say, we weren't asked how the disgusting food was. One of my kids got her steak 20 minutes later then everyone else because they screwed up on the order. 95% of the food was horrible as it was evident by how much we left untouched.
All the adults at the table have worked in the food industry for many years and this blew us away with the lack of professionalism and disgusting food.
It's unfortunate. Service and food have really gone down at...
Read moreI am a GM in the Hospitality industry (another Restaurant) and I've been staying in Erie for the last few weeks training with a new team of MIT. I have been to this particular Longhorn twice in the last 2 weeks because I like the food and normally the service is great too. In fact, getting to know Walt the bartender was a great experience, he's very friendly. This evening, I came into the restaurant and normally you can sit at an open table in the bar area which I did. I ordered a drink and took off my coat and a manager (Nick) came over and told me there is a 35 minute wait and I couldn't sit there. I did tell Nick that the Longhorn in Syracuse, NY (where we frequent, once a week) we can go into the bar area and sit if there's an empty table. Nick told me I couldn't sit there. Talk about not making your guests feel welcomed and humiliating me in front of a bunch of people in the bar area. I walked out and I will NEVER GO BACK. Nick has alot to learn about how to treat people. He was rude and showed no care for my business. I am still in town for another week and had plans to take my team to dinner there next week. Thank you Nick for making an out of towner (Hospitality GM) feel so NOT WELCOME, like I didn't even matter. If you take anything from this review, remember this, YOU NEVER KNOW WHO PEOPLE ARE AND KINDNESS ISN'T HARD. Piss Poor...
