KOKO izakaya and oyster house — Restaurant in Sunnyvale

I was walking in the plaza and decided to come in and check out this new place. I ordered a sake roll and a pork belly skewer. I figured for some simple food it wouldnt be too bad but the salmon in the sake roll was almost flavorless and the texture of the rice was sooo mushy. it felt almost worse than premade rolls you can buy in grocery stores. the pork belly skewer was pretty mid as well, it was so salty, i could taste that there was a sweet sauce on it which was nice but the salt took over like crazy. Wasn’t the worst food, service was really nice, but I kind of regret coming here...

We ordered the "best" items on the menu: skewers, curry katsu and baked California rolls for lunch; we like the skewers, but curry and sushi are pretty normal.

The food is very delicious, this is a bento box and the tempura was very fluffy and soft. The terriyake had soft fresh chicken bite and a very rich flavory sweet teriyaki sauce: loved they put a good amount of sauce to savor it more. The sushi is a shrimp tempura roll and was very big and yummy. I cannot find a flaw on flavor honestly. The portions are very nice and will fill you up. I will be coming back.
