Olympic Valley Stables — Local services in Tahoe City

This place was nothing sort of magical. Olympic Valley Stables was easily at the top of both of mine and my partners list when we were venue hunting. That was even with seeing it before the tent was set up for the season and the grounds partially under snow or muddy! Not only were we mesmerized by this place, but our guests were as well. I heard multiple times, "this is the most beautiful venue I've ever been to", which I have to agree. You can see the love and care Mich has for the place, and Bill the grounds/caretaker had every inch of the place looking stunning. The communication throughout the whole process was impecable. Mich travels all over the world, and that did not stop him from answering my questions timely or assigning someone to reach out to me if he was unavailable. On the day of, both Mich and Bill were around from when I arrived on site until the last guest left for the evening. They were constantly checking in on me and my vendors to make sure we had everything we needed. I felt so taken care of, and I know that's due to the kindness and warm hearted personality of Mich. Outside vendors is required for all aspects of your event aside from the Reception tent. This was part of the draw for us, as it allowed us to be creative and design a wedding day that was unique to us. However, if this seems overwhelming, Mich does have a great list of recommended vendors that know the stables well and would help make that process easier. My bridesmaids and I utilized the bridesmaid suite when getting ready and it made everything so convenient. I did not have to travel once I started getting ready for the day. Both the bridal and groom suites are set up so perfectly with everything you need, including a mini fridge in each. My makeup artist and hair stylist had no issues using any of their tools with the electricity in the suites. Lastly, I would highly encourage adding the silent disco after party! If I could book this venue 100x over, I would. Our wedding really felt magical to us and I think a big part has to do with the beauty and energy of this space. There’s just something so special about being directly in this valley, with 360 views. It’s truly gorgeous in every direction. We got so many compliments. Some of our friends and family from the area even told us they had no idea this amazing view existed right in our backyards. My husband and I loved the ability to customize our entire vendor team at this location. Being able to curate the exact wedding of our dreams to match our personalities and love story was important to us and the stables gave us the freedom to do that. Not to mention this ended up saving us some money in several ways. So that’s always a plus. It had great ease of access to both the Everline and the Villiage at Palisades as well as several air bnbs in the area and near truckee and Tahoe City. The owners Mich and Sarah really went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect for us. We dealt with an insane amount of redirections the week of our wedding for factors out of everyone’s control and they stepped up to help us navigate all of it with alternative solutions, always with a smile on their faces. They truly kept the vibes high and made sure that everything was set up for us to have the best experience. After our original venue unexpectedly fell through just weeks before the wedding, we were incredibly fortunate to learn that this hidden gem was available on our date. From the moment we stepped onto the land, we felt something sacred and grounding—unlike any other venue near Lake Tahoe. Olympic Stables isn’t just a beautiful space, it’s a place with deep soul and history.

Mich is a true blessing. He went above and beyond to help us create a celebration that genuinely reflected who we are. He was kind, communicative, flexible, and truly cared—not just about the logistics, but about the heart of our day. Mich gave us the freedom to be creative and intentional, and the support to bring everything together seamlessly. It didn’t feel like we were just renting a venue—it felt like we were part of something bigger, something meaningful.
