Kohl's — Local services in Taylor

I normally shop at this Kohl’s because it’s the closest location to me, but after several bad experiences with one employee in particular Ava (Ava/Eva) at the register, I feel compelled to share. In my years of shopping at Kohl’s, I’ve never encountered someone so consistently rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. She seems to go out of her way to be difficult and unhelpful, and this most recent experience was the last straw.

I found an item I really wanted but noticed it had a visible makeup stain. I asked if a small discount could be honored — something Kohl’s has always been willing to do in similar situations. She refused, claiming their system showed more in stock. I asked if she could have an associate help me find another one, and she initially told me I’d have to look myself. Only after asking again did she finally call someone. The associate and I looked thoroughly, but we couldn’t find another one.

When I returned to the register and let her know, she just said “okay” — so I assumed she would now be applying the discount, but when I asked again during checkout, she flat-out refused, saying “they could be anywhere in the store” and that there was nothing she could do. No flexibility, no empathy (after having me search), and no customer service.

Negative part- I came here seeking a possible bridesmade dress because Kohl's is well known for their quality & style. Also i enjoy the store's hours of operation extending past the mall's typical 9pm closing. However, the plus size women's department is so small! The choices are limited. There weren't any dresses! After combing over the area in disbelief, I happen to find a red clearanced dress on the floor in my size. Unfortunately it did not work out. Positive feedback - the woman in the cosmetics area (I don't recall her name) was EXTREMELY accommodating & helpful! She even showed me the area where there are applicators to use to sample the testers. I had no clue that was there for customers use. Also she explained differences in concealers & also told us about Kohl's make overs. We were surprised they offer them. My BFF is getting married next month & we were discussing the possibility of using their services. She explained that a minimum $$ amount make up purchase is required. I would shop here again, but I petter the Kohl's in Novi across from 12 Oaks Mall. It's larger. Kohl's at ALL YOUR STORES you need to up your plus sized apparel & carry in store larger bras. Ordering blindly, although they can be returned, is not as good as actually trying on a variety of bras & actually finding out that they work or do not. This store has 2 levels. My experience Aug 15/2022 about noon, Eureka Rd Taylor .I have shopped at this store and spent many thousands of dollars over the years in there. I come over from Canada and your store was my go to for our grandkids pajamas and clothes. I shop in the States, not necessarily because it’s cheaper, I shop to get something different! It just so happened that many items were on end of season clearance. I was in the store for about 2 hours. I was looking for the price check machine and another customer said “oh they took them out,they want to grab you at the cash register downstairs “ Long story short, everything that was in my cart came from the clearance rack. When I got to the cashier, nothing rang up on sale! The cashier said to me “did you look for the orange sticker that says clearance ?” I said I didn’t know I had to look for a sticker. She called the manager from that department, who basically accused me of trying to rip them off and get a discount where there is none. Thoroughly disgusted with the service and treatment yesterday. I have never written a complaint about a company before, but this was completely ignorant and over the top!
