MindTrap Escape Room — Local services in Temecula

These guys are seriously amazing. The puzzles are clever and intuitive, everything is so immersive and on theme, and their number one priority is your safety and experience. The door walking -inside- the rooms are themed. They don't count hints against your time, which just felt like a huge weight off ours shoulders that didn't make us afraid to ask for help while going through. And guys. The hints? The game master is in character the whole time. It was fantastic. We did the Excalibur room, and my sister is a teacher that studied Arthurian legend. She was geeking out the whole time, loving all of the little touches and research they put in to making the room the best it could be.

Coming out, the game master told us the people who own MindTrap were escape room junkies before they opened the place up. It's truly a labor of love, and it shows.

1000 out of 10. Would absolutely recommend. I'm excited to do the WWII room with my husband some time soon!

Just did another one, honestly? Same fantastic experience, but 40 Thieves. Great rooms, great puzzles, fantastic theming. Still 100/10,...

Just finished playing Gold Rush and this was my 131st escape room! As a Florida escape room owner and enthusiast, I can’t praise this experience enough for allowing us to check out a location we would probably never be able to play and support, otherwise. James was incredibly friendly and welcoming as it was our first virtual experience. His briefing was very thorough and the setup for the game is very easy to follow and interact with throughout the duration of the game!

Story-wise, One-Eyed Bill (our in-room character guide) added so much to the immersion of the story with his character driven remarks! This room also has a great balance of lock and tech that all felt appropriate to the environment and progression of the game.

Overall, this experience is one-of-a-kind and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that has access to internet during these trivial times. It allows for an escape from reality as you dive deep into the level of immersion that this venue creates even virtually! Thanks MindTrap, we will be back to play...

40 Thieves is an outstanding escape room—beautifully themed with immersive set design and a strong narrative thread that ties everything together from the moment you walk in. The puzzles are refreshingly tech-driven, steering away from the standard lock-and-key mechanics that many rooms rely on, and the high production value of the opening sequence sets the tone right away. It’s clear a lot of care and creativity went into crafting the experience.

While the puzzles themselves aren’t particularly difficult, there are quite a few of them, and they’re engaging and thoughtfully integrated with the story. We completed the room with just two people, but I’d recommend a group of at least four, especially for less experienced players.

Our game master, Kaci, was professional, friendly, and did a great job setting the scene and explaining the rules.

Overall, I’d highly recommend 40 Thieves to both seasoned players and newcomers looking for a memorable, high-quality escape...
