I DONT WRITE NEGATIVE REVIEWS but on the rare exception that a business screws me over. DO NOT TRUST KASSAB JEWLERS. None of their stores because their owner, Rana Kassab, doesn’t care about protecting your private personal data. Even if it’s of the most personal information.
I bought a VERY EXPENSIVE Tacori anniversary ring for my ex wife. There were some mistakes made by Tacori when they fit the diamond to the ring so we had them fix it, which took several weeks. Then in less than a years my ex wife decided she didn’t like it any more and wanted to get a different one. So we took the first one back and upgraded to an even more expensive Tacori setting and bought a VERY expensive eternity band. Even though both rings were made to perfection this time after another year my ex wife decided she didn’t like this anniversary ring either and began researching a new ring to trade up on.
Well, as you can imagine my ex was not just picky/difficult in her selection of rings but everything/everyone in her life. Because of this and so many other reasons, I left her. When I moved out I took the anniversary ring with me because I only had time to take a certain amount of property with me and I knew this ring, she didn’t appreciate anyways, would help offset the personal property I would be likely loosing in the divorce. I also knew that I’d be paying support for a very long time and unable to easily find a down payment on a ring for the woman I would eventually find, fall in love with and marry.
It didn’t take long but I fell in love again with a wonderful person who had not only become my lover but my best friend. So after being together for a year and a half we got engaged and I used the ring as a trade in on this new ring. I tried to get a hold of Rana in the process but she would not return any of my phone calls. I imagined it was because she is busy being a mom working full time. When Rana’s father and owner of Kassab died, I expressed sincere condolences. When Rana’s downtown store was looted, I expressed my support for Kassab and my disgust for the looters, and reminded people I talked to that it was often those families who where minorities or immigrated to this country that were hardest hit by the riots/looting in Portland and other cities.
Eventually we started working with Kevin, who did a fantastic job and was very professional in helping me and my new fiancée fin order a new Tacori ring/diamond, using my ex wife’s unappreciated ring as a trade in.
My ex wife felt justified in having the ring she didn’t appreciate, even though her personal property value is 3 times mine, including the ring. Without the ring she would be 4 times my personal property value and she still owes me more property that was court ordered. And my ex took 50% of my retirement and is getting over 55% of my net and I’ll be paying her support until I retire, minimum 11years.
Well, unsure how but I was recently served court paper work regarding personal property specifically the ring, and was SHOCKED to see MY EX WIFE HAD ATTACHED THE RECEIPTS FROM THE RING I BOUGHT FOR MY NEW FIANCÉE FROM KASSAB JEWELRY. I found out that Rana had given them to her. The receipts have personal information on them, phone number, address and my new fiancé’s name. No one knew at this time, not even my own kids, that I was getting engaged. Yet Rana took it upon herself to give this information freely to my ex wife.
I’ve tried to call, text, email Rana but she is not responding to me. I let her know if she will explain to me how my ex coerced her in giving her my receipts, gives me an apology and will attempt to retract the receipts. Then I will not post negative reviews and report her to the BBB and other appropriate agencies for breaking the law, by sharing my personal property without my authorization or court order.
Well as of this post the owner of Kassab jewelers still had not responded to me in any way. No response from the owner of a business who was happy to take tens of thousands of my hard...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked into the Washington Square location, I have had nothing but excellent service from Kassab Jewelers. I was greeted by John Chhim, and am so thankful that he was working that day, as he has taken amazing care of me at every step of the process. John listened politely to where I was at, asked good questions, and worked with me on the things I was interested in, rather than trying to force me in directions that I didn't want to go. He quickly helped me find a ring that was similar to what I was looking for, but once we got into the details of making the ring happen is when their focus on service really started to shine.
My fiance (spoiler alert :-) ) is a teacher, and I very much wanted to propose before the end of the summer, but the three stone ring in platinum I wanted needed to be designed from scratch and then cast using the dimensions of the diamonds I chose, and I had about three weeks to be able to make it happen. First, John busted his tail to get a variety of diamonds to the store so that we could get them picked and build the ring around their dimensions (also, John was always very respectful of my budget, and worked super hard to find the best options he could within that budget), second, Pierre got me the CAD (computer-aided design) of the ring quickly, and responded same day to some of the changes that I wanted made. When it became clear that there were a few aspects of the ring I wanted a very specific way, he put me directly in contact with their computer designer, who exchanged several redesigns (on a Sunday no less) with me so that we could get the final order on that Monday, which would allow the ring to be done in time. Then, just to make life harder on everyone, I decided I wanted to go a little bigger on the center stone. John rolled with it phenomenally. He did some research on the max increase we could do without changing the ring dimensions, and had several new diamonds in for me to look at within two days. I found one that I absolutely love. The ring was finished the day they said it would be, looks amazing, and best of all my fiance absolutely loves it!!!
But I was most impressed with John this last weekend. Unfortunately the ring is a bit big (not their fault, I had gotten the sizing from a ring my fiance used to wear, and that size is just a bit large for her) so we stopped by the downtown office to get her finger measured and then drop off the ring for resizing. The lady there was not particularly helpful, and neither of us were comfortable with what she had decided. So I thought it would be good to meet with John. My fiance, however, had to go out of town the following day, so the only time we could go in was Sunday, which was John's day off. Without even skipping a beat, he said he would meet us there to get it right. This is amazing to me. He had already gotten our business, no one would expect him to come in on his day off just to talk through a final measurement and make sure we were both comfortable, but he did it with a smile on his face. Amazing.
I did a lot of research on getting a ring online, and while I could have gotten it for somewhat cheaper, I couldn't have gotten one that is so perfect (with hand-picked diamonds that I was able to view and choose myself, and a final design that I was able to be intimately involved in), and I am absolutely certain that I would not receive anywhere near the attention, service and peace of mind that I have from working with John and...
Read moreI had looked at several types of rings online all over the web, and I was pleasantly surprised that Kassab jeweler’s had a fantastic selection and was located in the Pacific Northwest! When I reached out online, Donna contacted me back within minutes and we set up an appointment to look at their inventory. Donna took late night texts and questions and made our decisions simple. The selection was unbelievable and the prices were great for the pieces we selected. My fiancé custom designed his ring and it was a simple and straightforward process and way less costly than I had imagined. I will definitely shop Kassab’s again! Lifetime customer! Thank you Donna!
I have the best experience when Donna worked here. However shortly after I bought my rings she left and then any customer service went right out the door. There were three separate occasions that I came in within 2 and a half years to have my wedding ring and my engagement ring soldered back together because it's ordering would break. We spent a lot of money on our Rings here and we really wanted to go to a place that was local so we thought this place seem nice and have a good customer service. When I bought my wedding ring and engagement ring they also gave me an appraisal on it so I could get it insured separately. But after I bought an additional ring to put with my wedding ring they didn't give me an appraisal on it and told me that they don't do that kind of service when I see that that's a service that they clearly offer.
The first two times I brought it in to get soldered after it had been broken the sales people who are working were very rude and also had the vibe and look of used car salesman.
The third time it came in that was one of those same sales people and he told me that wearing the rings apart is really in style and am I sure that I really want them to fix it. I let him know that I wouldn't be there if I didn't want it fixed especially because it took me over an hour drive to get into their location. Then he asked me when was the last time I had brought it in and I told him probably about a year ago and he said oh yeah well then it's going to cost you something now and we charge about $115 for that. He didn't even look up any records and was very condescending and told me me again that I should just wear them apart as if people getting their Rings soldered together as some weird ritual but nobody does anymore.
Then he said he would clean the ring and then started drawing up a slit for me to pay for them to fix them and I told him not to worry about it that I would just take them back home. Then he tried to pressure me to leave the Rings there so that they can fix them which doesn't make any sense because they have already fixed them 3 times since I bought them and obviously it isn't working. After this interaction I decided to no longer do business with cassabs and found another Jeweler that is family-owned. I took my rings over to Morgan Jewelers in the Clackamas Town Center and they were able to solder my rings and did a beautiful job. The sales people there were friendly and appropriate and I will do my business elsewhere in the future.
I really don't like to leave negative reviews and so I gave this place three separate chances on three occasions where they seriously let me down and this last one of not fixing my ring was really the final straw for me considering that we have spent so much money here. They do not take care of their customers and I will never do...
