T.J. Maxx — Local services in Toledo

TJ Maxx Central, located next to Costco, is a brand new store that offers a clean and organized shopping environment. With a large selection of products, it provides a decent shopping experience. However, it is worth noting that the staff at this particular TJ Maxx follows stricter rules, especially when it comes to returns, which may differ from other locations, such as the one in Spring Meadows.

The cleanliness and organization of the store are commendable. Being a new establishment, it is evident that the management takes pride in maintaining a pleasant shopping atmosphere. The layout is well-designed, making it easy to navigate and find desired items. The wide range of products available ensures that shoppers have plenty of options to choose from.

Nevertheless, one aspect that disappointed me was the stricter return policy at this TJ Maxx location. As compared to the Spring Meadows store, which appears to be more lenient with returns even if the item has tags and a receipt, TJ Maxx Central strictly adheres to their system's inventory. If an item does not ring up in their system, they will not process the return, as I experienced with a hoverboard purchase.

I had bought a hoverboard for my son, but he didn't open it until three years later since he was not old enough to ride it at the time. Unfortunately, the hoverboard abruptly stopped charging, and I went to TJ Maxx Central seeking assistance. Despite having the brand-new, slightly-used hoverboard in its original packaging, the store manager refused to work with me on the return. This was in contrast to my experience at the other TJ Maxx, where they gladly accepted the return without any issues.

Just an FYI....NOT EVERYONE is utilizing fake 50s. Seriously who keeps brand new straight crisp 50s with them. Not me, I went for a quick trip to get a gift and left my wallet at home. But I been carrying this dang 50 in my work back for a minute, it's literally folded up. So because it's folder the machine don't work -I have to come back😒 I just work my 7th day and did my first 12hr shift of 3 days, and no I don't want to go home and come back-THEN gone ask me if I have another one... NO that's why that one is all folded up I never use cash! There should have been some way to figure this out. How are the machines the end of the transaction? How is there NO way for yall to figure it out, other than just assume I'm trying to scam and send me out. There is just zero customer...

I appreciate that the employees want to keep the store clean but they were literally hovering the entire time so much so that they took MY shoes while I was trying shoes on and I had to ask to get them back. Went to try on clothes and after awhile the lady pounded on the door and said that I was taking too long in the “largest dressing room” and that another woman her child and a dog needed to use it. I told her so sorry I’ll be right out. She then proceeded to berate me and my husband in front of other customers for using the “handicap dressing room” even when I explained that since there was no sign on the door I had no idea that it was the handicap room.
