Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Toledo

Update: tried this location again, the credit card machines were down, we waited 45 minutes for a to go order, it said it would be ready at 6:10 and wasn’t ready until at 6:45, and they literally gave me an entire wrong order with my name on it. I was also watching a female staff member interact with a customer who simply asked for a water cup, and she seemed so inconvenienced by this and slammed the cup on the counter and walked away when he said thank you. This location sucks. Consistently.

My mom and I usually always go to this chipotle but it seems to be going downhill lately. Just to clear the air I love chipotle and hate that I even am writing this. Lately this location has been incredibly inconsistent as a whole. Today, I ordered a burrito bowl and I opened it to see a puddle of nasty orange oil all over the bowl on the inside which was also leaking from the outside all over my dining room floor. The bottom of my bowl was also full of liquid and orange oil and also our chips were very stale and extremely salty which has been a recurring issue for the last couple times I’ve been in. My mom got three CRUNCHY tacos and when she opened hers up, there was also some sort of liquid all over the bowl it came in. Her tacos were supposed to be crunchy, but were dripping wet, soggy, and falling apart because of all of the liquid in the container. Also after dinner, my mom and I got horrible stomach aches and I feel like it’s because of whatever weird orange oil was coating our food. Before anyone makes assumptions as well, I have a really high tolerance to food and my stomach never gets upset after I eat anything whether it’s Mexican, spicy, etc. The pictures don’t do it justice for sure, but it was gross and we both threw our food out. This had never happened before to us (the stomach issues) but over the last couple months it seems like it’s been getting worse when it comes to the food and service. I gave it two stars because I like the young blonde girl that works the cash register, she is very friendly. But other than that, the workers aren’t particularly nice and I’m super sad it’s going downhill. I used to love going there! I have been to Chipotle in 6 different states and have never been disappointed with the flavor if the food. It is always great. Sometimes the portions are off. For example in Illinois they give you more rice and beans than Ohio. No idea why but they do. However at this Chipotle I got a burrito bowl like I always make it. Portion size was good. But the amount of liquid was crazy. I tipped the bowl at an angle and just saw the liquid running down to one end. I dabbed it up with a couple napkins and continued to eat my bowl. I am assuming it was the sofritas that we're the culprit but the sofritas bin was full when they scooped it so it's not like they scooped up the liquid all from the bottom. Super weird and annoying but it tasted good so that's a plus.

The staff is nice as well so nother plus.

Update 8/5/22: after being back to this particular Chipotle a few more times, I can't give it 4 stars anymore. I don't know if it's just new management or what but the staff have always had the sense about them that they hate their jobs and couldn't care less about the customers. Again the flavor of the food was fine but the portions are very small. I order the same bowl at every Chipotle so I know what normal amounts are. So small portions compared to other Chipotle's. Semi-rude staff compared to other Chipotle's Super watery Sofritas compared to other Chipotle's.

And that isn't even taking into account the cross contamination is the worst I've seen here compared to other Chipotle's. It's almost like it's a game to the staff to see how many other ingredients can have cheese in them...

I honestly don’t even know where to start. This chipotle is an absolute disgrace to all chipotles. Dirty floor, dirty counter smeared with old food, overflowing trash cans, terrible hygiene (people scratching their head and touching the food, touching their phones and then touching the food), loud rap music blasting in the back like it’s a night club, an employee who made atrocious and vile homosexual remarks to me while he was making my food… “The weather is nice and that means the freaks are out. I’m a freak by the way…” Each and every employee should be fired. They’re all rude, have terrible attitudes, and could care less about customer service. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been given dirty looks and not even greeted when I go up to the counter. This place needs to be thrown out in the filthiest dumpster and rebuilt starting with the staff and management. Alright, I’m done. I’m sick and tired of this ghetto chipotle ruining my post workout dopamine high. Oh and one more thing… if there was another chipotle near by I would go to it but there isn’t one within 100 million miles of my house.
