Fantastic little gem of a property which doubled as an actual old west experience! Tombstone revolves around the main street which is closed to driving and there are also no hotels on that street. This place is literally the closest place you can stay to all of the sights and attractions within Tombstone. On top of that, it's one of the few original buildings that escaped fire and is OOZING with Tombstone history and lore. The stagecoach historical tours even make a stop in front of the Inn. The Inn has 3 or 4 buildings on the property which, from the outside, look like they came straight from a history book chapter on the old west (1880s). The fountain (the Pineapple!) and shared courtyard are inviting and I can imagine sitting back and telling campfire stories late into evenings (when it's not snowing) while being surrounded by the Inn's old west ambiance and charm.
The inside of the unit we stayed in (the red house) has been updated but not gutted to preserve the history. The walls are weathered wood and even the floors appear to be original. That said the furniture and amenities are current and cozy while being family friendly with games and even an arcade machine.
I absolutely can't recommend this place enough. Crazy as it sounds, the Inn was one of the best things of our 2 days in Tombstone. I'm confident in saying that it's EASILY the best place you can stay in Tombstone.
Oh, and it snowed while...
Read moreMy family recently took a trip down to Tombstone, AZ and stayed at the China, Mary Inn and Doc Holiday Airbnb. It was one of the nicest Airbnb’s we have stayed in. It is in a great location and absolutely spotless. They have been completely updated, but still have the charm of the old Southwest.
The courtyard has a beautiful fountain. A nice surprise that were not in the pictures online (yet) are a putting green and corn hole set. And, the Doc Holiday unit has an arcade game in it. There is also laundry for the units.
The owners were very nice to schedule with and answered my questions in a timely manner. We would definitely book this...
Read moreOur family recently stayed at the Doc Holliday Suite at the China Mary Inn. Loved the whole vibe and found the property's history fascinating! China Mary was a very powerful and respected businesswoman back in the 1880s in Tombstone. We met/chatted with the current owners - they've taken great pains in their renovations, ensuring the aesthetic stayed authentic and true to the times. It was a lovely property and perfectly situated for visiting Allen Street! You really get the true "Tombstone" experience staying here. Highly recommend! Thanks for having us :). ...
