Cogir of South Bay — Local services in Torrance

I am recent (3 weeks ago) resident at Cogirs of South Bay. I had moved from another senior living community. The atmosphere feels similar to a resort hotel having a very helpful staff, a swimming pool, and an exercise room with modern equipment.

There is a bus to transport residents for appointments, or for errands and shopping trips. This service is available by requesting the concierge to schedule ahead of time.

My apartment is comfortable and fits all my furniture well. The kitchen is fully equipped with side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, electric range and oven, and microwave oven. The bedroom accommodates my bed, a desk and a dresser.

I especially like the security of the 24-hour concierge for safety of residents returning late in the evening.

The friendliness of the staff starts from the top as demonstrated by the Executive Director. I feel comfortable and welcomed here. The menu and food selection are excellent.

I have lived at Cogir of South Bay for a year now by Sept of 2025. My initial impressions continue to remain positive about the environment and the staff. The community has grown but the service and the friendliness still remain the same.

The variety of activities and different trips continue to grow as well. Residents can find something to interest them.

Cogir of South Bay distinguishes itself from other senior residences by virtue of its warm, friendly environment. Both the residents and staff have positive attitudes, welcoming and helping others. We moved here last month after having the shower in our apartment renovated for my safety with custom grab bars, shower head and enclosure. Ace (the maintenance director) is great, as evidenced by the preparations made for our arrival. Our experience to date has similarly been enhanced by the other directors and their staff. My wife and I went to look at Cogir South Bay. Just an exploratory visit. We were so impressed with everything from the rooms, the amenities. the quality of everything was so impressive that we paid a deposit and reserved an apartment right then. We were given a great tour , had lunch with other residents and during the “business “ discussion were given the details of the financial arrangements. I am by nature conservative and can be cynical and not impulsive. I believe that if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn’t. In this case it was true!
