I was accused of stealing another member's iPhone at this location. It happened as I was getting ready to leave. After washing my hands and heading towards the exit, i needed to validate my parking slip. There were several other members around me as I waited my turn to timepunch my ticket at the Front Desk. That's where I was approached by a young white girl who I had just seen in the locker room while I was washing my hands before leaving. It seemed as though she followed me from the locker room. My headphones were in & the volume was up. I'm standing behind 2 members, waiting to timepunch my parking slip, and this girl begins waving her hands frantically in my face. I pulled my headphones out to see what was wrong. Her: "YOU HAVE MY IPHONE!" Me: "Excuse me? IPhone? I have a Samsung. Are you ok?". Her: "I CAN'T FIND MY PHONE & THE APP SAYS YOU HAVE IT". ???? I was so confused and in shock. I had a fanny pack & a small tote bag that held a water bottle and towel. I lifted up my sweatshirt, turned around, and looked in my bag, while trying to understand what this young woman was saying. Why would I have it??? Do I know her? Me: "I don't have any iPhones, did you look around?" Her: "NOPE YOU HAVE IT" ... That's when it dawned on me that this silly little girl was convinced that I stole her phone. Me: "So you passed up everyone in the locker room to FOLLOW ME, ONLY ME? Because you think I stole your phone?" Her: "I NEED TO CHECK YOUR BAG". Me: "You? Want to check my bag?! Here!" I threw my tote on the counter, unhooked my fanny pack and placed it on the counter. Without hesitation, she quickly rummaged through my practically EMPTY tote bag. I waited for her brain to register that I didn't have it. But then the idiot looked at me, with her eyes on my lower half as if she was going to BODY SEARCH ME. AND THAT IS WHEN I SNAPPED. "DID YOU FIND IT!? NO? BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE IT!" . By this time, Front Desk staff finally chimed in. The accuser ran over to the other side of the desk to say her iPhone was stollen and that I had it. Then BOOM!! Like magic, THEY HANDED HER THE LONG LOST (not stolen) iPhone. It was turned in at some point, but the Front Desk had it all along. She had this silly smirk on her face and there I was, after being accused for stealing and searched, angry and embarrassed, yet SHE HAD ZERO APOLOGY TO GIVE. Other gym-goers saw the whole thing. A Front Desk staff did assist me after the ordeal since I was visibly upset. She was super sweet and I appreciated her for her kindness. It was very upsetting.

My husband and I visited this gym about a week ago on Sunday after not coming for quite some time. This is by far the 24 hour fitness we've been to. We came here because our usual gym closed early that day. The whole place was filthy, and frankly unsanitary. Dust bunnies and dirt all over the floors from the bottom floor to the top. It was so apparent that it had been that way for a while. No one had dusted, swept, vacuumed or mopped in a long time. So you know if that hasn't been done then their has been no sanitizing of anything either. The bacteria in that place must be on a different level. All corner areas had accumulated so much dust. Trash and empty water bottles on the floor all around the gym. The glass railing going upstairs was very dirty, the windows looking out from upstairs were so dirty and dusty that people had written on them with their finger and because it was night time you could clearly see it. This is the newest gym in the south bay and in the worst condition. I should've taken pictures. I asked the front desk clerk on our way out and he had no answers as to why the gym was in this condition. He said he only works weekends and doesn't know when cleaning staff cones in. When I told him that he needed to bring it to the attention of his manager, he said I'm pretty sure they know how bad it is. The bathroom was in bad shape as well. Although I didn't go in a stall or check the showers, I can only imagine by the way the rest of the locker room looked. The sauna was not working which was probably a good thing because I'm sure it was unsanitary in there as well. Couldn't imagine how unsanitary the steam room was. One of the arm machines by the window had 2 big holes in the elbow rest. That was the only piece of equipment that I noticed needed repair, although the exercise bike were in subpar shape. One I was broken and my husband tried one but it would not go above one on resistance. We pay way too much money for the gym to be in this condition at anytime. I remember how nice it was and how the cleaning staff was always present when it first opened. I understand that the members are often why the equipment is broken, but this gym is so busy that the team members should stay on top of that and making repairs. I am a regular visitor at the Manhattan Beach gym, and the staff is great there. The equipment isn't always working because it is very old but there is always someone there cleaning and working on repairs. I don't know why Manhattan Beach is considered a super sport, because it's clearly not. Manhattan Beach deserves newer equipment. This flagshi(t)p location is a bait and switch. When I started it was clean and had lots of classes.

Now the men's locker room stinks like sewer gas, often has out of order toilets, and mountains of used wet toilet paper all over the floor. I have photos, should I post them?

The upstairs bathroom used to be open now it's locked because they are too cheap to clean it, forcing members to go down multiple flights of stairs to the ground floor gross locker room that is typically flooded with lee and pool water in addition to the other experiences I've mentioned. And cheap is the operative word. The whole gym is dirty and there's lots of broken equipment from bikes to fans that blow backwards because the reverse button is broken.

And cheap because the A/C is typically off or limited.

It used to have a lot of GX classes but they've started to cut them and instructors who only make $25 a class. When we asked Randy the manager why classes were being cut he said budget.

So you're saying they can't afford $25 for a class? Once class has 60+ people and we'd all be willing to pay at least a dollar. But no, it wasn't good enough for 24.

All the good instructors are leaving because 24 thinks they're clever, cutting back for budget. But we all know they're adding pay as you go Modus classes so they're trying to trick us into doing those or force us when other classes are gone.

Instead, due to these sneaky tactics many of us are starting to leave for Class Pass to get variety and gyms that value us.

Oh, and don't smell like sewer gas with mountains of wet used toilet paper.

And 24, if you don't like this review, then fix the issues and your reputation for being a cheap, gross gym that baits people into joining and then takes away the perks on which you convinced them to join.

Which left me no choice but to start leaving reviews publicly. I work in marketing and I am going to do a lot more unless you can help resolve this and many other issues going on with your club.” 8/30/2024 24 corporate responds to my review publicly. 8/28/2024 left original Google review above and Yelp review. 8/26 contacted corporate to discuss issues. No reply.
