I came here with my parents to help them on their hunt for a pickup truck. We stopped on a whim after seeing that they had a selection of trucks within the parameters of what they were looking for. Specifically a Ram pickup. My parents and I were interested in 2 of the trucks they had on the lot and test drove both of them. All is well so far, salesman was nice and cordial, trucks seem to be in good shape. My parents leaned toward a black 2011 SLT Quad Cab. Here's where this experience starts to go south. We request a Carfax for said vehicle, they proceeded to hand us not a CarFax but an Auto Check report. For those unfamiliar with what that is, it is a general specification sheet with limited information on it about previous owner history, vehicle features etc. This report presents about 50% of the information represented on a Carfax report. To the average person buying a car, that may be acceptable but not for me. Any self respecting dealership will offer a Carfax at no question, so this was a major red flag. Now back to the vehicle in question, my father had noticed some bumped damage on the initial viewing of the vehicle, so he called later that night to inquire whether that would be fixed prior to purchase. The salesman told him he would have to get back to him the next day about that, no problem. Being suspicious of the vehicle history my parents paid out of pocket for a Carfax report of the truck that night and come to find out, there was SERIOUS issues with the vehicle. Issues that were NOT represented at all on the Auto Check report that was given to us by the dealership. Spotty maintenance records to start, plus a major accident that resulted in the vehicle having to be towed away. Upon further investigation into the matter we discovered that the truck had major repair work done to the axles and suspension. They had also purchased the vehicle wholesale from an actual Dodge dealership. NONE of that was mentioned on the report provided by the dealership. So the next morning we decided to see if they could provide an actual Carfax to us to see if they had prior knowledge of the accident. I had planned on going down myself to grab it for my parents as they live quite a distance away from Canadaigua. I called the salesman this morning to request it and he immediately was resistant to the idea of it, telling me he "didn't know if that was possible" Red flag. He called me back several minutes later to inform me that no, they cannot provide that information. He then proceeds to call my father and fails to acknowledge that he had even HAD the conversation with me about the Carfax report, acted like it didn't even happen. My father proceeded to inform him that they would be shopping elsewhere. They didn't even attempt to figure out the reason why, or even really remotely care. This kind of practice at car dealerships is downright dangerous, let alone disappointing. I'm a reasonable person and understand that you have to run a business and make money off that business but this kind of behavior is disgusting. Do your home work people, these...
Read moreThis dealership has ruined my life. I came in looking for a reliable car, it passed their “inspection” and ended up having an oil leak, they stated they needed dealer specific tools and tried sending me to the cars specific dealership because they “couldn’t fix it”. Before sending me to the other dealership my tie rod disconnected while I had my children in the car with me on our way to school, they fixed that, the dealership they referred me to didn’t work with their warranty. So I went back, spoke to sales and service, they were “purchasing” the tool needed to work on the vehicle, “fixed it” and passed NYS inspection while it had an engine knock. Caused by the damage from the oil leak, it was so oily it caused my timing belt to shred multiple times after “it was repaired”, I went to take it for an oil change, the coolant was mixed in with engine oil. I contacted them again. This time they didn’t work on the car because “it’s too big of a job and they didn’t have enough bays to work on it without it affecting their business because they have other clients” and my car has been immobile since. To make things better, I called the warranty and they said it was cancelled, did not state who cancelled it but there was a phone number provided, I contacted that number and they referred me to the bank. My bank wants to know where the warranty payments are going and stated the dealership handles that. I purchased this car because I needed a reliable vehicle and instead I got a ridiculous payment for a car that hasn’t been drivable in a year with 0 resolution.
This is in regards to your response. You have not seen the vehicle since 2024 because that is when I called for the millionth time and was told to find a different shop because you don’t have the space or time for the project. And since September of 2024 I’ve been trying to get this car into a shop but no one wants to work with the warranty you guys provided and then cancelled.
9/10/25 I have left voicemails with the service department and the regular voicemail with no response. Ya’ll have my number on file it has not changed. I’ve called warranty and the bank and the warranty company is stating it has been canceled. At this point I’ve tried to return the car to the bank and they will not accept it in its condition. Ya’ll told me you could not work on it the last time I reached out last which was September 2024. It’s now September 2025 a whole year later and the car has remained dead. I have to move and can’t even move the car so, once again you guys continue to ignore the issue. And continue to cause major EXPENSIVE inconveniences instead of honoring the promise of excellent service yall were stating...
Read moreIf you are looking to get a vehicle and looking for a place that will work with you I suggest not stopping here. I had working in the car business as both a salesman and a sales manager and had went there as I am partial to the small businesses, but became very disappointed with the way they conduct business. I had went looking at a crew cab ram, they had pulled the truck up and I I had started to look at it. First I noticed several flaws in the vehicle, mind you I know it is used so know there will be flaws. I had pointed at a very small rust spot and asked if anything could be done. The salesman instantly said our cars are sold as is. Which you should not say. I had not said anything about repainting or anything along those lines, even some touch up paint would have worked just fine. I had taken the truck for a ride and it seemed to be in good mechanical condition and I had looked past the minor flaws. And went in and wanted to see what kind of deal we could make. Went through the process but it was late and banks where not answering so had left for the evening. The next day I had heard nothing all day. Finally I had to initiate a conversation with the salesman. Communication should be a big thing in a place like this. The salesman should keep in contact. He had told me what my payment would be. I had asked several times what my trade in value was and all the other numbers in which he would not tell me I had to ask several times. Again I was a sales manager and am well aware of everything in the car business. When he finally gave me the numbers and I had wanted to negotiate them. The salesman then said we do not negotiate our prices. I had tried several times to get the to negotiate then got a text saying they can not help me. It's very unfortunate they conduct business like this and it blows my mind how many sales are missed because they do not work with there customers. And just say there is nothing else we can do for you. With all that being said I had ended up buying a brand new ram that was not a crew cab and had put a large amount of money down purely because the dealership was willing to work and take care of their customers. Auto outlet has a lot to learn. I do want to end this saying that if you want an example of how they treat people simply look at the other reviews. Auto outlet puts blame on everyone that writes a review not in there favor. You should not put blame on customers. You have a lot to learn in...
