I recently moved up this area in Appleton, WI from downtown Chicago, Il. When I moved up here, needless to say there was very limited retail shopping relatively speaking to Chicago. I have shopped at Banana Republic off and on in the past, but when I moved up here I found myself shopping a great deal more.
In fact, I have purchased several shirts and 3-4 dress pants along with other accessories in the past 2-3 months.
Well, one of those dress pants I purchased didn't quite fit me due to my build. I had worn them once and quickly realize I grab the wrong pair that was a slim fit. I know the POLICY and because of that I asked an associate working while I looking around one day if they could simply exchange them for another pair, even though I didn't have a receipt.
Today I went in to do so and the staff said because there is no receipt and I did wear them, there isn't anything they can do because that's the POLICY. I am a Regional for a certain Retail company and I understand how policies work and that they CAN do something for me and there are EXCEPTIONS to be made for loyal buying Customers.
With that said, I even reached out to Customer Service and they said the store staff isn't willing to do anything for men, despite this.
Considering the Company's Q1 and Q2 performances, I would expect leadership to do and managers to change their approach and increased their Focus on creating a unique Customer experience and going above and beyond to find solutions for all their Customers, especially those who spend a great deal of money on their stores.
What I would to see happen, is 1) The DM/ Regional reach out to me so I can discuss this with him/ her and 2) The manager at this location make an exception for a Customer who spends a great deal of money in her store. If she does not, she will lose my...
Read moreWent last night for a return. She did not know how to do the return. Employee had no smile the whole time, just mistrustful staring at a box of Palomar boots from online store. The only thing she said was "Are you sure you bought them here?" She does not know BR merchandise and was training a new employee. This sort of "customer service" is the norm for BR at FRM. Very inhospitable and rude. Happened before, I was admonished for bringing in returns and not buying at the store! Really? You don't have my sizes or everything on the website in-store. I will never shop there again. She was not busy, but never asked to put things in the dressing room for me and I walked out and bought clothes at White House Black Market where I am always welcome, returns or not. The BR brand does not have enough 100% cotton in their clothes anyway. The boots were cute but not manufactured quality enough for comfort for $230.00! and they are way too trendy with stiff fabric choices. I'll spend my money where I am treated well and the store has my styles & sizes. And the customer ser vice is welcoming and...
Read moreI stopped by at least 5 stores looking for a sweater. I was about to give up when I decided to go to Banana Republic. What a great idea! The clothing was displayed for easy viewing. It was crammed with so much that you couldn't walk the aisles or see the merchandise. I found my sweater. In fact, I bought two sweaters. The customer service wasn't great, but the merchandise...
