Kathleen's of Donegal — Local services in Town of Hempstead

First let me state, I remember when this establishment came to the area... How my Mother and I would marvel at the beautiful merchandise in the windows-- Well, that was long ago and far away... I was in need of a Christmas ornament for an upcoming Holiday Tree Trimming Party-- I have no idea who the young lady was manning the store but her manners are MUCH to be desired!!! She wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with me. When I greeted "hello," she turned her back and kept speaking to the individual on the phone-- Never mind that she was more than willing to assist the other patron who was looking for sweaters! When that customer walked out and I tried to get her attention by saying "excuse me? her response was "yeah?" She was definitely NOT interested in anything I asked, betted yet anything I wanted to purchase... It doesnt matter, as I found what I needed (and more) and gave my hard earned money to the establishment next door (Jeannine's.)

Don't do business with Kathleen's of Donegal Irish Imports. After talking to a company representative about sizing, I bought a small, adult, woman's fisherman's knit sweater. It was too big so I returned it and they shipped me a child's sweater which did fit. (Quality was OK.) I was told I would receive a credit for the price difference between the child's and adults sweater. I followed up with Karen of Kathleen's of Donegal Irish Imports for over 6 months asking for the promised credit. I sent her numerous polite emails, talked to her courteously on the phone, emailed AND at HER request also SNAIL mailed her a copy of the receipts. Over 9 months later, no credit has been issued to my credit card for the price difference. Shame on Kathleen's of Donegal Irish Imports. There are plenty of places that sell these sweaters. Kathleen's doesn't deserve the business. I won't buy anything...

I first heard of the store when my mother bought me a sweat-jacket from here as a Christmas gift 4 years ago. It quickly became my favorite jacket I own. The jacket has lasted 3 hard winters with me up at Binghamton University and I wear it at least twice a week still to this day with no signs of wear and tear. I decided to buy my girlfriend a gift from here (I got her a hoodie) and everyone in her family loves it. I thought I'd leave a review while I was looking up the address to send to her parents as they seem to be interested in buying something for themselves too. I would definitely recommend the store to all my friends with Irish heritage, which, being from Rockville center, basically means I'd recommend it to everyone...
