While LV might not perceived to be as luxurious as it used to be as it was when I was growing up, it is still a respectable brand in the luxury goods market and a brand that I purchase multiple items from; check out some of the purchases I have made over the years:
January 2021 - I purchased myself a Neonoe bag with black straps from from the LV website to treat myself; I had not been socializing at all as we were all in quarantine and working from home; I thought I would treat myself to this bag, not knowing when I would actually use it since I barely stepped out of my apartment those days unless I absolutely needed to (I was doing everything that I could to protect my mom from getting COVID as she was living with me at the time). At some stage I thought I might use the Neonoe as a work bag but when I returned to the office later that June, I decided not to as I felt I needed a larger bag to carry my daily essentials. I did end up using this bag later that year when I visited Paris and Honolulu and felt it was a great travel bag at the time. While I do not use it nearly as much as I used to, I still think it is a useful bag in my collection and occasionally use it to run daily errands.
May 2021 - I had just gotten vaccinated a few weeks earlier in April of that year and went ahead started stepping out of the house (I was still extra cautious and made sure I maintained social distancing - I still wasn't meeting my friends in person at this stage). I went to the LASIK at LVI in Garden City and decided to visit the Roosevelt Field mall that following Sunday as I had been wanting to do a bit of window shopping since I hadn't gone out in ages. I went ahead and purchased the Victorine wallet from the LV boutique inside Macy’s; the customer service was fantastic.
April 2022 - I purchased the Kiragami pochette set from the LV website as I had my eyes on this set for a while but noticed that it was rarely available for purchase as the item is quite popular; the moment I saw it on the website, I immediately purchased it. I use the medium size pochette in place of a wallet nowadays and the larger pochette to carry certain travel documents if and when needed.
August 2022 - I purchased the side strap T-shirt from the LV website in black; this is one of my favorite items in my wardrobe - I wear it on the days when I want to look put together but don’t want to go all out. I recently wore this T-shirt on my return flight home from London in the American Airlines business class cabin.
March 2023 - I purchased the GM-sized OnTheGo tote from the LV boutique on Avenue Montaigne. I had entered the store knowing that I wanted to purchase it but was somewhat hesitant because I felt the straps were a bit too thin (I prefer bags with wider straps for my shoulders); the SA suggested that I buy a separate bag strap (which was about 400 euros from my recollection?) - I went ahead and bought both items. I use this bag almost everyday so this was money well spent in my opinion!
LV designs in my opinion are timeless and I have gotten plenty of use out of the items I have purchased thus far and look forwarding to buying many more in the future! While I tend to make purchases for LV either online or when I am in Europe for to take advantage of better pricing and the VAT refund, I look forward to visiting the Garden City location in the future should I decide to make an in-store...
Read moreOnce I got home and unpacked my bag, I quickly realized that I was given the dirty, scratched display model bag. At no point was I told that I would be receiving the display model. I saw that the display model looked dirty when I tried it on. If I had known I was being given that, I would've just asked them to order it online.
Hannah was very kind and helpful throughout the process of finding the bag and exchanging it for one I requested to be NEW. Unfortunately, I was never informed that both the original and replacement would not be in new condition. They can only "request" for it to be from the warehouse, but I guess LV doesn't have to honor that request. The replacement still had marks on it and it looked like someone had wiped it down with a rag.
At this point, I knew it would be best to return it and just opt for a different brand entirely that would actually deliver a brand-new bag. I didn't know the store only carried the display bag of each. I go to the store to make a return and met Gia... rude, dismissive, and unhelpful Gia. She claimed we needed the physical receipt to make the return. She also made a face when I said I was given a dirty and scratched up bag. We bought it here, so it can't be searched in the system? Ok, I call LV, they send a duplicate receipt, but this store can't use that because this is a Macy's LV (requires a Macys receipt). Thankfully, once we returned, a professional and kind associate helped us process the return using the credit card used at this location, which Gia likely knew herself yet turned us away. Gia just walked by with an attitude and didn't say anything. Just staring at us and talking to coworkers from afar.
I hope customers are able to work with the second associate who helped us. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. At this price point, there are better alternatives from other brands that will deliver a new bag (in person...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Steer CLEAR of this LV. I bought a Capucine 10 days ago, unfortunately the bag just wasn’t for me, size, shape etc. so I brought it back 2 days ago. My “SA” (which of whom I will NEVER deal with again) takes the bag and brings it into the back for a manager to look at. About 10 minutes later they both come out and my SA walks away. The manager proceeds to tell me she cannot accept my return because it has been “warn” due to marks in the bag and a mark on the Logo. I hadn’t even used the bag since purchase. It had been sitting in its dust bag the whole time. Obviously I argue that the damage could not have been from me, and the manager says “we stand by our products” got it. So I go home, and realize I actually took pictures of my bag in the store before I purchased to send to family. You can Clearly see the logo mark in the pictures!! They sold me a broken logo bag. The marks inside? Dust. So, I vacuum it out and I bring it back in and tell the manager on duty I want to return it and what happened, well he says that the previous manager had sent out a “group chat” not to accept my bag because of “marks” and “wear” on the bag. I point out that the marks were dust and I had vacuumed it and that they sold me the bag broken. He says he doesn’t care about the logo “can’t even see the mark” and will not refund the bag because I just brought it home and cleaned it. I will still be fighting for my refund, this was an extremely expensive bag, that was sold to me broken. Highly recommend avoiding this LV you will not get any refunds or exchanges!!! Even when they sell you something broken!! So much for “standing by their...
