It took a lot to get me to the point of writing this, I’d like to state that first.

It took me 3 weeks and 3 different try’s of driving 35 minutes to warranty my controller because they’re never open. Just like other negative reviews on here the doors would be locked with lights on and it’s not like I’m talking 10 mins after open or 10 minutes to close either.

Tonight I finally was able to get it done. The guy I originally bought the controller from was not there and when I bought the warranty I explained I go through controllers because the joysticks suck and he said I will never have a problem just have to repay for the warranty. OK NO PROBLEM. I even upgraded controllers at one point and paid extra. Tonight as soon as I say I’d like to warranty my controller he tells me the warranty gives me a used controller instead of new because it’s changed. Confused but at the same time WHATEVER, I agree it’s fine. He then from what I’m assuming he does is go through my purchase history seeing I warranty the controller(which I was always told is fine) after that he says he doesn’t have the color I had and I said the color doesn’t matter and just pick whatever color he wants. The other guy comes from the back room with a brand new same controller. He says I should t do this but with the way it’s priced I will just give you a new one, ok cool. I get ready to pay the warranty he hands me a receipt and the controller and I’m all set without paying. Walk out to my car and look at the receipt and it says customer declined extended warranty. I never got the opportunity to rebuy it so how did I decline it. I’m upset but at the same time glad it’s over. I get home connect it to my Xbox and as I’m sitting here I’m wondering why I smell animal urine. I have no animals by the way… the box the controller is in smells like 2 cats made love ontop of it. So I then smell the controller…same thing. I just spent the last 30 minutes and multiple things to make the controller not smell. The controller and the box are now in the garbage. How does a BRAND NEW sealed controller smell this bad. Is there a animal rescue in the back room? I will never waste this much time for this...

The Glen Street GameStop might be in the running for the worst GameStop location in the not only the country, but also the entire world. This store doesn't even deserve a half a star. This store used to be pretty good 5 or 6 years ago.. Now, I struggle to understand how this store can possibly stay in business between being closed constantly and the rude/incompetent staff, not to mention online competition. I haven't set foot in this store since winter of 2023 after the brain dead girl working the counter rudely told me they wouldn't buy a used joycon because they didn't have a way to test it, meanwhile there's a Nintendo Switch powered on less than 5 feet away from where I was standing. I had probably used the joycon 1 time and I knew it was in like new condition. The fact that they wouldn't buy it wasn't a huge deal but the girl's attitude working the counter put me over the top. She mentioned that I could go sell it on Facebook marketplace while I was walking out so I turned around and gave her a piece of my mind which shut her up real quick. The reason for this review now is due to the fact that the store is constantly closed with a sign that says their computers are down. I have to do a return from an online purchase because I prefer to buy online rather then to actually go into this dump, although I've had my fair share of problems with the online purchases as well.
