T.J. Maxx — Local services in Town of Rib Mountain

I have been a loyal customer of TJ Maxx since they open their doors over 20 some years ago.Today, January 18th, 2020, I called the store and spoke to a very kind woman and explained an error that had occurred during a return that same day. She located one of the items that was not the correct size as the one I originally wanted to keep and said kindly said she would look for the other item in which was not supposed to be returned. I was so upset about the situation I told her I would come right down to the store so that she could personally help me in that she knew the details of the situation and was so extremely KIND and helpful. She said when I arrived to have her paged as she was not a cashier but a member of management and that she would personally help correct the issue even if it meant giving me the same item that was slightly larger for a few dollars more since she couldn't find the slightly smaller.To make a long story short the manager that was on duty when I came within 20 minutes had no idea what I was talking about making me feel like loon to the point I showed her my call history with the stores name, # and amount of time spent talking to her and her reassuring me she understood and that it would be just fine. Back to the bully that I produced my phone to like I was being interrogated, she made me feel horrible and that this associate from the other store was WRONG (not something you share with a customer by giving me like almost a GUILT trip, the impression the AMAZINGLY kind store member of management at the Wausau store get in trouble for basically trying to HELP me, the CUSTOMER!).This unpleasant member of management continued raising her voice at me to imply that I was given the wrong information and she would not honor the few dollars difference because the item for less that I wanted at that time couldn't be located).I immediately payed full price for the item because I told this manager that I did not want to get the wonderful manager that worked for TJ Maxx into any kind of trouble for being kind to a loyal customer that was told I was in the right because I was! I followed up by calling the store to talk to the associate that was so very kind and helpful to me and explain to her how rudely I was treated at our store. The receptionist that answered at this other store, must have already been called, scolded as well as the kind manager. She acted like did not know who I was talking about when I asked for the manager by name She RUDELY told me that she would pass along the message and had the audacity to hang up on me! Friends, family and personally myself, have noticed a significant, actually more than significant, change in customer service at BOTH stores in our area over the years. The employees and store managers that I originally used to purchase LARGE quantities of items from, no longer work for TJ Maxx (THREE actually quit to go to work for Goodwill for less and are SOOO happy there and out respect for them and their trust that's all I will divulge. That to me speaks VOLUMES!). And by changes I mean of very negative changes. Mainly how I personally am treated as a customer and have observed others being treated in the same disrespectful, unhelpful, DISCUSTED attitudes that you see on their faces that they look like they are VERY unhappy to be there! Bottom line folks, I rarely shop at TJ Maxx anymore. Not because of poor selection or non existent price increases but SADLY because of the horrible customer service I have experienced over the last several years! But, most recently today, when I was treated so extremely rudely, and made to be fearful of the same level of management as the nice management at Rib Mountain, getting in trouble for doing her job and correcting an error, kind of put the frosting on the cake for me and not wanting to do anymore shopping then necessary at this store. This used to be my most favorite place to shop because of name brand items at great prices, but because all of this poor treatment they will be seeing even less of me, my family and friends.Very...

Always go to TJ Maxx when I'm working on a home décor project and want something unique. I know that the inventory is other businesses close out and over inventories. But it still nice to find that 1 item You aren't able to find any places else. The pricing is always competitive. Although at times I expect them to be cheaper. It's about equal to Amazon, but I actually can take the product right then and there.

I will give them credit because their checkout is very fast. When I was there, I had to step in to one of those single lines that was 12 people deep, but they had 6 cashiers, so it went very fast.

My sister and I came into the store and there was a lady who passed us with Grinch pajamas and I told my sister she has Grinch pajamas I should see if they sell them here because I wanted to get some at Walmart but they were sold out. So I went to one of the workers and she was really friendly and showed me where they were and made conversation I love when retail workers are friendly and make conversation with you.
