Rocky Rococo Pizza and Pasta — Restaurant in Town of Rib Mountain

Good gracious, I love Rocky Rococo. Everytime I come to Wisconsin, I seek it out. However, my experience at the Rib Mtn location today was mixed.

The service was awesome - the team was very attentive to their customers and made sure I had everything I needed.

The breadsticks were the best I'd had at a Rocky's in recent memory. Hot, buttery and utterly delicious.

My pizza was not as great - not as hot as I'd expect, just this side of lukewarm, and it was lacking in the cheese department, which is never something I encounter at other locations. It was still good, but not as good as I expected.

I concur with the other reviewers who noted the cleaning solution odor in this location. It really was incredibly strong and distracting. I was breathing through my mouth while eating. And when I left, I could still taste the cleaning solution odor in the back of my mouth for at least 15 minutes. It was strong and off-putting. The restaurant was otherwise clean and well-kept. But that smell...I will not return to this location the next time I'm in Wausau, at least not for dine in. Thank goodness there's...

Ordered online and was given a pickup time of 8:45. Got there and there were 4 people working and only one couple sitting in the dining room. Our order was not ready and the other couple must have been waiting for some time because they asked that their pizza be boxed to go when ready. The lady I assume to be the manager loudly told the cashier to "first off" tell us they don't have hot sauce for the wings which she saw was on the order but was a dipping sauce choice ordering online which she could have nicely explained to us. One order of wings was done about 10 mins before the rest of our order. We finally left the restaurant with our food at 905. Again, 4 people working and by this time no other customers in the restaurant. The food was subpar at best. My 15 year old son compared the wings to the Walgreens brand and my husband didn't even finish his. The pizza crust didn't even appear to be thoroughly cooked. I ordered takeout on July 21 around 6pm. When I arrived to pickup my order, the gentleman and young lady working up front were both very friendly, personable and hospitable. The lady working in the back was doing a great job cranking out orders! Rocky's is and always has been my favorite deep dish pizza and is the only deep dish pizza I will eat. I love their breadsticks and they are even better with the nacho cheese! I have been to several different locations (Racine, Milwaukee near the airport, Stevens Point), but the Rib Mountain location provided the best service I have ever recieved at a Rocky's.
