I bought a grill on Monday and it was supposed to be delivered the next day between 6am and 8pm. First of all that is quite a long timeframe to have to wait but ok. Tuesday morning at 10am I got a call saying there was a problem with the delivery order and I would have to wait until Wednesday between 6am and 8pm again not my idea of fun but I'm retired so no big deal. The next day I was a little impatient so at about 10am I checked the link they had emailed so I could track my order. All the tracking showed was that delivery was cancelled. I picked up the phone and called. After 45 minutes on the phone during which I was transfered back and forth several times, waited twice while the phone rang for over 5 minutes each time and being disconnected twice, I finally got someone who said she was a manager. She went to check and see what was happening and told me she would not transfer or put me on hold. Instead we were disconnected. I will say that this time I got a call back. I was told my grill was still in the store but that she would get it on another truck and call me when it left Home Depot. Well I never did get the phone call but the delivery truck came to my back door about an hour later, even though the instructions said I wanted it delivered to the front. I told this to the driver and he shrugged. I went back to the house to close the door because my dog was barking and when I turned back around the grill was literally in the middle of the street at the back of my small house and the driver was getting back in the truck and said "you got it from here." Needless to say I was surprised but he got back in the truck and left. While not obvious because I wasn't using my oxygen, I am handicapped and have a very difficult time breathing but I had no choice I had to push it around the house and then sit for about 10 minutes to catch my breath. I have not tried the grill yet, I just hope it works okay because I don't want to have to deal with this store again. This wasn't the first bad experience I've had with a delivery from the Riverhead Home Depot. I bought a washer there last year but that's another story. The employees and delivery people show absolutely no respect or concern for...
Read moreI order from Home Depot's all over the country and tonight was the worst experience I've had; typically this staff is very friendly and helpful.
Somebody named Armani at the service desk was extremely horrible to my assistant. She got on the phone and immediately acted as if he wasn't given permission to pick up an order, said his name in a very disrespectful way, as if he was doing something wrong. Then she started repeating the order over and over to me as if I was in kindergarten and had some type of learning disability. Don't recall ever in 12 years of being a business owner talking to anybody at any Home Depot anywhere in the United States that was a fraction as condescending.
My assistant said she was very crabby to him as well. I did not get a hold of him to confirm when I sent the payment, and then I didn't hear my phone ringing when he and Home Depot called.
He was at the wrong store and they would not transfer it over and the manager was equally as revolting. They should be ashamed of themselves. What a DISPICABLE representation of the Home Depot brand. Attached is a text I sent my assistant after I got off the phone with Armani while he was at the...
Read moreEvery time I’ve been to Home Depot it’s awful not ONCE HAVE A LEFT HAPPY. (Unfortunately, anytime I go in. I know that I will leave that store mad) The amount of employers in this places insane, but there is unfortunately no standards when it comes down to customer service. Nobody knows where anything is, they just direct you to the person in area which 90% of the time is nowhere to be found. Getting something loaded in the car takes at least 20 minutes of wait time when there is plenty of people on site. Unfortunately Lowe’s was closed on Easter. But customer service at Lowe’s is insanely high always happy and ready to help. I would suggest on getting a recruiter/DM go and compare the customer service to be able to better identify opportunities at Home Depot. I do want give a shout out to Julie and this other gentleman (didn’t get his name) that went on and beyond their way to making sure I left happy. It’s honestly the first time I felt that someone in that store actually cared. But have to speak to at least 7 people to get some help on...
