My girlfriend and I, born and raised in the area went Downtown TC to browse the shops yesterday. We specifically wanted to go to your store. My girlfriend found a beautiful birthday card, very special for $10. After looking at all the jewelry and trying on some rings (the store attendant opened up the cases and answered my questions.). The two young ladies were âkind of friendlyâ, but not very. I found a tiny ring and fell in love with it. At $45 I âsplurgedâ and bought it. There was only one so I asked if the store would be getting a new order in with more like the one I purchased, they are thin stackables. I was told that no, they were not good sellers, âpeople didnât like themâ so no, they were not re stocking them. I tried to tell her I loved them but she wasnât interested in my opinion. The ladies were kind of friendly but only to a point, they were uncomfortable talking with us and it wasnât a pleasant experience. Weâre local ladies and venture downtown after the summer rush is over. I spent my career in Custmer Service, genuinely loved the interaction with my customers. I believe in âtreat others how you want to be treatedâ. I hope my next visit will be a...
Read moreThis was absolutely an awful experience. My daughter and I went in to shop we both carry clear purses we both had jeans and a t-shirt on not unkempt not looking like trash, we just came out of The Spice Merchant with a small bag of loose tea's. I'd seen a can huggy I showed to my daughter stating it would be perfect for a friend of ours. I hadn't even moved from the area when the shop manager went over to them and counted each one to make sure they were all there. She then proceeded to follow me as I went to tell my daughter we were leaving and she was following and watching us for utterlyno reason. We had no intent on stealing anything and even if we did we had no where to put it since we had no pockets, jackets, hoodies ect.. and our purses are CLEAR. Unexceptable behavior on her part. There were two other customers in the store and no one was following them or counting merchandise after they looked at it. Worst customer service ever. If I could give a negitive number of stars I would. I will never suggest this store or any of their other locations. Shame...
Read moreAnn at Nifty Things went above and beyond for me today! I was having trouble finding a local, Traverse City shop that would deliver a get well gift to a friend at Munson Medical Center. Several local florists I called refused to deliver to the hospital because of many refused delivery attempts resulting in lost revenue/customer refunds during COVID. Getting desperate, I reached out to local gift shops to see if anyone could help me out. Ann answered the phone, listened to my plight, and was willing to do a delivery - something they don't do and are not set up to do. A few hours later, my friend received the gift - which I'm sure she appreciated way more than flowers because this unique bracelet and mug will not rot like flowers do. So thank you, Ann and Nifty Things! Your customer service is fantastic and I cannot wait to visit you in person when I get to...
