So this was my third time here. Never again. I have never been racially profiled ever in my life!
I walked in, and there was a couple in front of me picking out over $200 worth of items.
5 mintues later, another couple (two ladies/best friends) walked in and we noticed it was their birthday. The man who was in front of me with his wife offered to pay for the best friendās slice of cake for their birthday. The lady came from the register to give the two ladies behind me their slice of cake before taking my order. First red flag.
Second red flag was when i noticed another lady came from the back (before the ladies were given their slice of cake by the other lady) she looked at me, completely ignored the fact that I was standing there IN LINE, IN FRONT OF THE WOMEN and proceeded to ask the two Caucasian women behind me what they wanted to order. The two women directed the lady to take my order because I was in front of them.
When she came and asked what I wanted I asked if she had the mango cake pastry in the back, as she went to check the back, the VERY nice lady that was in front of me with her husband asked me which pastry was I getting, I told her I may get the strawberry pastry and she told the lady to add mine to her tab as well so I wouldn't be left out. Which was so nice and I told her she didnt have to. The lady came back from the back with the mango pastry and I told the lady in front of me that I was going to just pay for mine because I wanted the strawberry and the mango. She told the lady at the cash register to add on the mango and the strawberry to the tab.
Long story short, this is where my issue with them is. After the rung up the couple in front of me and sent them on their way, I walked up to grab my box and go, and the girl who gave me my mango pastry from the back we hesitant on giving me the boxā¦trying to see if I paid or not. Her and the lady at the register started speaking foreign and then eventually gave me the box and I went to walk out.
I stopped at the door, turned back around and grabbed a ice cream out the freezer to purchase because I realized I had wanted to try the ice cream as well. I went back up to pay for it and the lady took the box out of my hand and took the strawberry pastry out of the box and told me āyou donāt want thatā and I told her that the lady had paid for yes I wanted itšš¤¦š½āāļø. She told me the lady didnāt pay for it (AFTER I CLEARLY SAW THE LADY PAY FOR IT) and she proceeds to charge me for the pastries all over again plus the ice cream. Never again will I EVER come back to this place.
Ive left great reviews on instagram for these people and all. They are money hungry and prejudice! The mango pastry was very delicious and the environment is very clean and well put together. But Do not shop here unless you want to spend unnecessary money. They charged me $20 for those two items. Basically scammed the couple in front of me for their money and got more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is for shelby twp location only!
What a pathetic service I received from this location. I am regular at Troy location ( love that place excellent service/ cakes) was so excited for this new location to open in shelby as its a lot closer from where I live.
Location itself is very nice, i had hope the time, money and effort that was put into this place, if bit of that was put into employee selection that would have been awesome. I went to this place 2 times in last 3 weeks, both times I regretted this big time. When i went to get the cake, i walked into the store 3 girls were up at the front talking in Arabic, nobody acknowledged us i wandered around for good 5 mins before i asked for help. I asked one of the girl what was inside the cake, they had no idea. I was like okay not big deal, i chose one cake and she asked if i wanted the writing i said yes, told her what was needed to be written. She never confirmed the spellings of the name, she goes to me instead of writing i will give you this cake toper that says happy bday, i was not very fond of that, but i was like okay fine if its too hard for you write that works, then she goes on writing my name without asking or confirming the spellings of my name. When she was done she showed me the cake and i can not explain the frustration I felt that moment as you all can see it looked ugly as hell, looks like an elementary kid was trying to practice their writing. Well whatever i paid and left and was hoping that it will get better. Today for the 2nd time we went again same thing, two girls at front talking in Arabic not acknowledging any customers coming in you literally have to specifically ask them for help. We picked the cake, i mean they only literally had just 2 cakes sitting not much choices, however same thing asked the girl for writing and her response was ā i will give you the cake topperā like what???? Why canāt you not hire an entry level cake decorator looks like these girls are just hired to do checkout other then that they have absolutely no customer service skills, they are always busy gossiping in Arabic and not even acknowledge there customers or their needs, also i feel like its quiet rude, as i am sure not all of your costumers are arabic speaking. It would be nice if/when their are costumers, at least communication should be in English. Cakes are not cheap here, but the service you get literally does not add up. If i could, i would have given a ZERO star, from here now on I will take my business else where. Hoping the management will take some action to correct these issues and provide a better service to there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had one of the worst customer service experiences Iāve ever encountered. The front staff were polite and professional, but the ownerās behavior was shockingly rude and disrespectful. I stopped in to order a cake for my sonās birthday. The cashier kindly said someone would assist me, and after a few minutes the owner (Rachid Farhat) came over. Hereās how the conversation went: ⢠Me: Hi, how are you? Iād like to order a cake for my sonās birthday. ⢠Owner: Okay. ⢠Me: Last year we ordered an 8-inch cake like this one (showed a photo) for $80. ⢠Owner: Itās going to be $200ā$275. ⢠Me: Really? Last year it was $80. ⢠Owner: Well.. Prices went up. (already sounding irritated) ⢠Me: That seems a bit high. ⢠Owner: (pointing abruptly at a display cakes) Then you can buy from hereāitās $50. Feeling uncomfortable and not wanting to hold up other customers, I simply said Iād think about it and left. The ownerās dismissive attitude and lack of basic courtesy were unacceptable. I have no complaints about the other staffālast year another employee helped me and was wonderfulābut this time I left feeling completely disrespected. I was so angry that I felt like grabbing him by the collar and shaking some manners into himāthatās how insulting his attitude was. Not everyone will stay as calm or patient as I did, and if he keeps treating customers this way, heās bound to run into someone who wonāt put up with it. Itās unfortunate because the shopās prime location is probably the only reason it stays busy. I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and learns some basic customer service skills.
Reading your responses to my review only reinforces my pointāyou clearly didnāt take the time to understand what I was trying to explain. The cake I ordered was the exact same size as the one I bought from Farhat Sweets for $80 last year. I can understand that prices may have risen to around $125, but when I first asked about ordering a similar cake, you quoted $200ā$275 in a dismissive tone. You really need to work on how you speak to customers. Your attitude made us feel as if we couldnāt afford the cake and were just wasting your time. I have been to this shop may be 12-15 times and never had a bad experience until I had to deal with you (owner), rest of the staff...
