Where do Iļø begin.... if your deciding on where to eat when going out with your friends like Iļø was, Iām going to tell you why you shouldnāt choose this place. The service was Atrocious! The waitress was extremely rude and the wait for the food was very long and not to mention the even longer wait to be seated even though the place was empty (and with good reason) many of the people ahead of my group decided to leave before being seated because it was taking so long, but since this would have been my first time trying Korean bbq Iļø was very eager to stay and wait. Once we were seated we had trouble ordering because our waitress was not having it, and everything was stupidly overpriced! A couple strips of beef was $20! So In order to be able to try more menu options my friends decided to order different things and share then split the price, we all ordered 3 things worth 20 dollars each, you would think the total would be a little above 60 but it turned out to be a little above 80! 1+1=7 am Iļø right? Since it was our first time we were not accustomed to cooking our own food at the table the staff couldnāt have been more rude about it, have you ever been to a friends house that spoke a different language and whenever theyāre parents spoke to them you kinda felt they were talking bad about you? Because the entire time Iļø was there Iļø think they thought Iļø was an imbecile playing with Fire. Lastly the thing that made me despise this place was at the end when we were ready to pay for our meal, we asked the waitress to split the bill 3 ways (we had 3 people) she kindly did so, then it was time to give a tip, personally Iļø did not believe she deserved one but Iļø am aware that they are usually paid by tips alone so Iļø decided to give her what Iļø thought she deserved, no more no less. The entire time Iļø was deciding her tip she was staring at me waiting for the the bill, then she said āyou have to give 15%ā witch Iļø agreed with and said you did get 15% we divided 15 percent of our bill 3 ways. She was angered by this and said we had to tip 15% of the total bill ($80+) that was roughly $11 and she wanted all 3 of us to give her $11 that would have been a 45% tip! and honestly if the service was amazing and Iļø wasnāt in a bad mood because of the previous acts Iļø wouldnāt have tried to argue with her. But if somehow you are able to get past a judging waitstaff and terrible service, you will enjoy yourself because the food was...

This place was a big hope. After enjoying several Korean BBQs in other states, Annandale, VA has many. This one seemed to be a good shot, another good one!
I enjoy cooking the food myself and usually have to convince the staff of Korean places that despite having an American look; I have eaten Asain cuisine since birth, cooked at my table many times before, I don't want meat overcooked, and I want spice and garlic....you know flavor.
First the biggest food fail was that the bulgogi beef was absolutely tasteless. No sign of sauce either during the cooking process at our table. I kept hoping it would be good despite my experience telling me it would not. We actually ate none of it after our first bites to taste it.
The pork belly was good but the staff fought me on the cooking. They were trying to over cook it basically. I tried to cook my food and made some comments to the staff. The woman gave me a smile when I finally said it out loud, "I don't want it overcooked." And gave me a little more fire so I could get some crisp edges before the meat was overdone.
The worst part is that I paid and left a tip even just a smaller one than usual. Well the older man that works there saw us get up and start walking out. So he proceeds to jog to his point of sale computer to check if I paid. Really?! Serve me the worst Korean food I have had in years. I tip you as the service was ok given the normal fight I have with Korean BBQ staff. And you check me?
We may try them one more time when they are super busy. They might just serve us good food as they won't have the time to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would highly recommend this restaurant for those who love authentic Korean food. Right when you walk in, you are greeted by very kind servers. We did not have to wait long as we went just a bit before the dinner rush hour. After placing our order, we were shortly served the side dishes which tasted amazing. Instead of the bean sprouts side dish, it was replaced with an eggplant side dish this time and that was delicious. I had ordered the beef bibimbap and I would recommend it. It was super hot, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. You do not need to add a lot of gochujang sauce as it already has some flavour itself. The portion itself was quite large and definitely worth the price. When my cousin had dropped her chopstick on the floor by mistake, before we had a chance to ask for a replacement, the waitress came up from behind and provided her a new set. We also did not need to ask the servers to refill our tea as they would come check consistently to ensure our cups were never left empty. Amazing service and amazing food. It is well worth the drive from Windsor!!
Update: Went back for some Korean BBQ and once again, this restaurant never...
