I preordered and paid in full for a game. I went to pick it up a week after it's release (my husband and I both work full time and have two kids under the age of 4... it's not exactly easy to fit picking up a video game 20 minutes away into our schedule), and I was told they sold our copy. They sold our paid for game because I didn't pick it up within a week!
The staff member told me they had more copies in transit that would be there that day or the next day. I said I'd be back and refused a refund because I was promised they'd have the game within 2 days, which is when I needed it as a gift for my nephew. Tried calling later that day to see if they got it, no one will answer the phone.
The next day I tried calling again and no one will answer the phone. I make the drive back out and am told they still don't have my paid for copy. I was told I'd be called later that day when they get the game in stock... never got a call.
The following day my husband went up there and demanded to talk to the store manager. We were told that the game was probably packed in a box in back that hadn't been opened yet, but they refused to check for us. They refunded our money and we had to drive another 15 minutes to a different location that had the game. This other location told us that they are not supposed to sell games out from under their clients, that this location intentionally unplugs their phone, and offered to give us the district managers phone number because we had been treated so badly. Additionally he knocked $5 off the price of the game. THAT is the difference between terrible customer service and wonderful customer service. Needless to say, the further location is going to...
Read moreMy backbone controllers joystick broke about a week ago- I work a lot and didn’t have the have time to exchange it under the paid warranty/insurance it right away. Today I walked in and this young guy Pat (that’s what he said his name was) was working- I walked in, explained my issue and he asked me for my number- pulled up my account, went to grab the replacement from the back and then said he would need for me to just take the remote from the box, no cables or whatever else came with it- I said ok whatever. He proceeds to charge me the now $20 fee which used to be $15 and right before I actually pay he stopped me and said he couldn’t take my item back. I asked him why, and his response was because the joystick piece was missing! So I got frustrated because that the main reason why I’m here- because the item was defective and it broke after only a month of having it! He then grabs his cell phone and is texting with the “store manager” and says that his manager agreed with his decision, that I should bring the missing piece! I asked him for the number to reach his manager and he said he couldn’t give me neither his number or name. I ended up having him write down his name and the number for corporate. I don’t understand what the reason they offer paid warranty if it doesn’t cover the item breaking so easily. I will NEVER shop at a GameStop store ver again. Rude and unprofessional young employees that don’t have a clue about customer care or customer support. 0...
Read moreIf possible I’d give this location zero stars. I went in on a Wednesday night to see about getting a VR for the PlayStation. For some reason the store was completely packed. The line ran throughout the entire store. After about a 40 minute wait in line the man behind the counter said they had 7 in stock but he had to get his manager. The woman came over, very rude and frustrated. She was trying to talk to us while dealing with a customer on the phone. Constantly rolling her eyes and giving attitude. She told us they had no VR headsets available and that we would find any in a 200 mike radius. She informed us that the only way to buy it was to purchase the bundle. We left the store and after some consideration we decided to get the bundle. We went back inside and the woman told us they didn’t have any bundles available and again that we wouldn’t find them within a 200 mile radius. Even though she told us 15 minutes prior that they had them. Needless to say we went to the GameStop across the street, in Oakland Mall. Where they had tons of them. Maybe someone should tell her that turning down business because you’re busy and frustrated isn’t the right...
