Let me tell you about my recent fling with the Pie Collective by Achatz. I swung by to grab some slices of their famous pies and cakes to-go, and let me just say - it was love at first bite. The cherry pie was like a burst of summer in my mouth, with a perfectly flaky crust and juicy cherries that made me want to do a little dance. And the pecan pie? Don't even get me started - it was like a sweet, nutty symphony that had me singing its praises all the way home.

But the real showstoppers were the carrot cake and chocolate fudge cake. The carrot cake was so moist and flavorful, it was like biting into a slice of heaven. And the chocolate fudge cake? Oh my goodness. It was like a rich, indulgent hug from a dear friend - the kind of cake that makes you forget your worries and just focus on the sheer bliss of chocolatey goodness.

I visited this location yesterday and I don’t know if it’s always like this but the time I went was so busy with people asking for special orders and the staff seemed so patient to hear what they wanted to get them what they needed. The young gentleman greeted me and I wasn’t ready yet so he told me his name was Julian and to let him know if I had any questions. He was able to explain a few different pies to me and help me make my decision! Meanwhile, the girl at the register was all ears and ready to ring me up before I even made it over to that side. Impressive to know what my order was with Julian, before I even got over to her. Receipt said her name was Katrina, she was very friendly and personable! Pies are a big YUM! How wonderful to have you in the neighborhood. I visited this new location the day before their grand opening. Atchez makes lemon meringue pie. Not many places do. I purchased one, a beef pie and 2 cherry hand pies. I’m not completely satisfied with the beef pie filling. It was a bit bland and lacked a generous portion of actual beef. The pie crust was so flaky and crisp. On the other hand, the lemon meringue pie crust was soggy on the bottom. The pie filling was sweet, tart and tangy. The hand pies were WONDERFUL. I’m going to believe that the slight misses above are simply growing pains to be straightened out going forward. I’m looking forward to coming back again. Thanks for opening...
