I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Sonic that left me shocked and appalled. It's disheartening to think that, in this day and age, acts of racism still occur. My family and I were subjected to unfair treatment solely because of our accent, which is completely unacceptable.
During our visit, an employee at the drive-through went as far as telling us to never come back. This kind of behavior is not only hurtful, but it also sets a terrible example for customer service. What made the situation even more distressing was that we had our young children in the car, one of whom was eagerly looking forward to a milk shake. It was heartbreaking to witness our child's confusion and disappointment as they asked why they were being denied food.
When my wife attempted to address the issue by contacting the branch, she was met with further disrespect. The employee she spoke to hung up on her, and even the manager, whom she reached out to, not only supported the employee's actions but also ended the conversation abruptly. This level of disregard for customer satisfaction is absolutely appalling.
I advice every one of color against this mistreatment and deciding not to return to that particular Sonic location. It is essential to teach our children that racism should never be tolerated and that we should always stand up against it.
I strongly encourage you to share your experience with Sonic's corporate office. It is crucial that they are made aware of the unacceptable behavior displayed by their employee and manager. They need to take immediate action to rectify this situation and ensure that it never...
Read moreDrive Thru 620. Royal Oak Michigan June 30th 4:04 PM. Extremely bad, rude customer service. The wife and I were looking forward to and getting excited for some cool treats on a warm summer day in Michigan. We pull up to the drive thru, right away we were told one moment please. 10 minutes(or possibly more) pass and car pulls up behind us. We wait another few minutes and just decided to pull up to the window to see what was going on. Still another few minutes pass, we can see people inside but nobody came to the window. They finally come to the drive through window, and a the lady asked us "Did you already order?" We said no, because we were waiting for a while. So the lady took our order and we had to repeat our order a few times. I wanted a Sonic Blast and she asked twice "was that a shake?". A few more minutes pass and we finally get our small order of a meduim Sonic Blast and a large diet coke. Another lady rudely hands us the drink and ice cream and gives us a dirty look. No apologies, I'm sorry for the wait, just flat out attitude and rudeness when we did nothing wrong but wait a very long time. Mind you, the place was not busy at all! Don't know if anything will be done about this. I see that this location received 2 out of 5 star reviews on Yelp and nothing has been done. Luckily there is another Sonic in Troy that we can go to. If you are regional manager for this location, please do your quality assurance checks on your employees. Even though this is a prime location. Bad customer service will always catch up and this place will not likely survive despite how great the...
Read moreI ordered 2 drinks online, and was told to go to one of the ordering screens, click the red button, and say the order name. But when I did I didn’t get anyone on speaker for about ten minutes. At the ten minute mark I clicked the red button again, I proceeded to do this in ten minute intervals for about 30 minutes. And no one came to the speaker. At this point I wasn’t necessarily angry just annoyed I work in the food industry and i understand how hectic it can be when short staffed. (And just to add i was only one of seven cars that waited for the same amount if not longer time) I decided to go through the drive thru, I said I had an online order they asked my name and told me to move along, I was thinking great they have my order I’ll be all set. But the drive thru line took just as long to go through. I was thinking they surely are short staffed. Once I finally made it to the window the woman didn’t even have the right order, had to ask me for my name again, and the work place was packed with workers some literally just standing behind the woman helping me. When I mention honestly politely that I was sat at one of the screens for upward of 25 minutes she literally shook her head and threw her hands up and said she didn’t see anyone at a screen.. there were literally seven of us. And then rolled her eyes said “sorry” and slammed the window. I really wasn’t trying to complain to her maybe point out an issue, but the service was literally despicable. I would have never treated someone like that. 0 costumer service skills. At least the...
