Where do I start... I DJ at pastime, and last night I lost my keys, I live in Reno, needless to say, I really don't know too many people in Truckee. I left my truck overnight, starting frantically calling people at 10:00 a.m. this morning hoping to find somebody to save the day. I started calling around, however, Keith, the owner of Pastime told me to call Alpine Lock and key, he said the owner was a really cool guy and he take care of me. Keith, was right on the money about that , Saturday morning, Mitch, the owner of Alpine lock and key picks up the phone, I give him the rundown, he tells me I'll be there in a couple of hours... My wife and I drive up Reno, to meet Mitch, who was there 10 minutes earlier than he was supposed to be... Looked at my truck, looked at me with a smile and says, don't worry buddy, I'll take care of this and have you on the road in no time. Man, that's exactly what he did in less than 10 minutes, Mitch handed me two keys, and said there you go, have a great weekend.. on top of that, didn't even charge me the full quoted price. What a blessing, if you read this review, you should not look any further. Call this gentleman ASAP. Knowledgeable, friendly, fair priced, and definitely the BEST in Truckee. My experience with Alpine Lock & Key could not have been worse. I requested a custom install. It took multiple calls, and two visits before the tech would tell me if he could do the job.

He then proceeded to butcher my door. The metal trim was needlessly hacked up. Not only did the hack job leave my exterior door compromised to weather, he left his mess of wood and metal shavings on my floor for me clean up!

The bill for this damage was over $900!!! The tech was on site for one hour. This was labor charges ONLY. No materials! Easy math. This is pure exhortation!

I emailed the company twice and left 3 messages over the course of a week requesting to speak with a manager before I finally got a return call from Patrick one of the owners.

He was dismissive and flippant, claiming his tech had done nothing wrong. When I requested a refund he actually became belligerent, began yelling and hung up on me.

I've had to get another vendor to repair the damage to my door. I've emailed again since Patrick hung up on me, with no further response from the company.

I made the dumb mistake of locking myself out of my friend’s home with her dog inside waiting for me to take her out to pee. Panic set in. But my friend texted me back and said to call Alpine Lock and Key and boy, was that a great choice! Dunn picked up and answered right away and said it would be a 45 - 60 minute timeframe. Jacob called me from the street in about 20 minutes or so and had the lock unlocked in literally 2 seconds!!! He was so sweet and kind. He also told me that this was his typical call and at $175, it wasn’t as bad as people that lose their keys. They are apparently very expensive to replace. I am counting myself lucky. My partner who paid for my folly is being repaid with lots of pampering. All in all, a fabulous ending to a fabulous day. Thank you Alpine...
