Fourth Avenue should be a fun, interesting place to shop and hang out. It was our first visit, and it seems like Fourth Avenue should have a lot to offer with its shops and restaurants. At first glance, it looks like one of those fun, quaint downtown areas. But as we were dining at one of its restaurants for lunch and afterward walking up and down the street, it was really not possible to enjoy the experience. Even at midday, we clearly experienced an oppressive demonic aura here that we have not experienced to the same extent elsewhere in Tucson. There were many expressions of a spiritual principality who hates humankind and who enslaves people so that they are not free to love and care about others. It was evident in a myriad of ways...
...in how we were treated by the proprietor of the restaurant where we had lunch. His rudeness and impatience while explaining menu options was not the typical indifference that most people show one another, or even the typical impatience of someone being short with a difficult customer or having a bad day. There was a barely restrained dark hate in his eyes, and his body language was as if he was a puppet possessed by a evil being.
...in the bondage we saw in many people that we passed while walking down the street. We did not find people who are free in their hearts. So many people were noticeably under a very dark menacing cloud.
...in the beautiful garden hangout areas on the East side of the street that were all inaccessible, locked behind oppressive iron bars, taunting passers-by with a false promise of peaceful rest and enjoyment.
...in the somewhat narrow sidewalks in front of some of the shops that at times makes it uncomfortable because you canāt stop without risking getting in someoneās way, even though at lunch hour the sidewalks arenāt overly crowded.
...in the blank, lifeless, zombie-like expressions on the faces of U of A students who were walking back and forth to the housing located just to the West of Fourth Avenue.
Despite the lack of smiles and genuine kindness, we did enjoy exploring the interesting shapes/types of locks hung on metal art sculptures placed periodically along the walkways, and were encouraged when our daughter noticed a rainbow-colored crosswalk that is a reminder that God will never again destroy the earth with water, no matter how wicked we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was here for the Winter 2024 4th Ave. Street Fair. There was a fabulous variety of food vendors and an even wider variety of merchants. The merchants with booths in the fair carried everything from snacks, to art, to fine jewelry and pet supplies among the customary crafts and folk art. The food vendors had nearly everything you could want: Boba Teas, Indian Cuisine, Greek, Italian, BBQ, Thai, Chinese, Caribbean, Burgers, Hotdogs and so much more. Of course, the merchants with regular storefronts on 4th Ave benefit from the visitors to the Fair as well. We visited and shopped in several stores and were pleased to see ample staff members to handle the large crowds. Parking is always tricky or expensive. This year, I chose to park at a house. They were selling spaces for $20 each, with the money going toward their daughter's upcoming educational trip. $20 is the typical going rate to park anywhere within a block of the Fair. The farther away you park, the less the price. The Merchant Association works very hard to bring the Fair to 4th Ave. twice a year. Their work is evident in the organization of the merchants, the various live stages for performers, the ample lavatories and the abundance of continuously clean trashcans. Thank you for all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love many of the place on 4th. Itās always hard to come back though after being treated, time and time again, like my business is replaceable. If you want to keep the local flavor of this area, then treat the customers like theyāre the most important thing in the world. Like theyāre the ones that are keeping you going. Your employees are so rude and putting the customers on the defensive sometimes and itās hard to take to take that behavior. I donāt know what to say, maybe like āIām sorry youāre working right now and youāre serving me, and Iām notā...? Cmon get it together 4th Ave!!! The service in the downtown area is amazing, be...
