So disappointed with our experience here. So many amazing reviews I am truly stunned I’m here giving 1 star. I gave this store TWO chances. The first time I came here was a Sunday so I expected somewhat of a wait and busy store. One customer in front of us. One. And we were still standing in line for 2 hours. All 3 workers were helping one family, while everyone else was waiting with questions. No idea why the workers don’t help different people. My son couldn’t get sized because the owner wasn’t there something I find out 2 hours after waiting... confused why the 3 workers who were there aren’t taught and able to size my son? So I had to guess bought a christening outfit for my six month old and was told I could exchange size if it doesn’t work. Also, something really concerning was all 3 workers couldn’t tell me the price of the outfit? Took them at least 30 min to figure it out.. I guess that should’ve been my red flag. Go home, it doesn’t fit. Went back today figuring it was a weekday we would have a more personal experience (finally) and some help. Literally only one family in the store at the register checking out when we came in. No hello, no greeting from any worker. Helped ourselves to finding the baptism outfit. Found a bigger size and stood in line. An hour later I’m acknowledged and my son is sized. I’m ready to exchange it and literally the same family is still checking out undecided of what to buy, browsing the store and adding more and more and unsure what payment to use. Not my problem. Waited another hour just to exchange the outfit and would’ve still been waiting hadn’t we finally spoke up. Customer service is terrible here. Two experiences. Two chances. I have a gift card and still will not go back to this store or recommend it when everyone asks where my sons outfit is from. Really disappointing. Check out a Star is born boutique in south Philadelphia. Wonderful customer service, same products. Spend your money where you’re acknowledged when you walk in the store and get the service you should when buying a $300 baptism outfit.
EDIT TO RESPOND: Ma’m nothing is a lie. My husband is self employed, I would never right a review Off a lie. I clearly stated the three workers there was my first visit (not today). It was a young lady, the other lady in there today with you, and someone else who said she was covering for you due to you being out. You were not there to tell me what’s a lie and what’s not. We were there an extremely long time. I am patient, but at a certain point of no one assisting us it’s incredibly disrespectful and there is a line that is crossed. Also, she told me it could be exchanged, which I stated it was exchanged with no problem. My problem lies with the waiting. Please check your cameras to see when we entered the store and left. It was an incredibly long wait with not just payment issues, that’s one thing, but a person who you allowed to buy then exchange her item because she already changed her mind and continued to add items. I hate to tell someone who to run their business but I believe strongly you should’ve interfered and asked them to put their stuff to the side until they had all their shopping complete to check out so we could have gotten out sooner. I did not storm out. I did not say anything unprofessional. I let my husband handle it and took my 5 month old for a bottle and diaper change considering how long we were in the store for. Please reread reviews before responding. Nothing was a lie. You completed missed me telling you about two different experiences in your store. My points been made, we will not...
Read moreNot only is the clothing one of kind and stunning, but the owner, Caroline and her sales associates make your shopping experience pleasurable! The store itself is well organized into 3 rooms and immaculately clean! The clothing that my mother purchased for my baby shower display got the most attention! EVERYONE wanted to know where the pieces came from. I travel an hour and half to get to Layla's and it is definitely well worth the time. Layla's has the most beautiful baby clothes I've ever seen! I can't wait to go back!
Update! My daughter is now 1 and we have a beautiful collection of Layla pieces! I have attached a few photos of our Layla's clothes! I even sent my sister in law to Layla's for my Goddaughter's first birthday dress. With that being said, I'd like to address the negative reviews on here, especially the ones with nonsense names or did not provide an explanation for their 1 star review. I found Caroline's business through Instagram when i found out i was pregnant with 2 girls. While I was pregnant with my daughter, I suffered from multiple pregnancy complications, resulting in the loss of her twin sister. My mother planned our first trip to Caroline's shop to get me out of the house and help cope with my illness and loss. Caroline treated us like family, and it was the first time we met her. Not only is she sympathetic but she also shared her own stories. So in addition to the stunning store, the owner has a heart of gold and treats her customers the way they should be treated when supporting her small business. Something else I'd like to address are the reviews calling her pieces expensive or a rip off. I'm not sure of the children's boutique selection in the area of the store, because I'm from out of town, but in my hometown of Staten Island, there is a boutique in every town, all priced the same or similar to Layla's but the selection and quality doesn't even come close. Caroline internationally imports a large portion of her store from Spain, England, and Italy. With that being said, many of the pieces that are not in stock, she has to custom order and that does take a significant amount of time. I'd say at least 8-10 weeks. Again, these products are not American made and can't be found anywhere. To address the customer that found something for half price, I will say that many of her designers unfortunately have knock off brands selling the same design or style. You'd only know this if you truly know the quality of the international children's lines. To see so many negative reviews truly breaks my heart. I know that they can't be based off of multiple people. It's so sad to see the extent that someone would go to sabotage someone else's success. Time to start supporting eachother or just focus on your own life and success.
Best of luck, Caroline. Keep your head up high! I'll...
Read moreIf I was able to give more stars I would! The owner Caroline was a lifesaver to say the least! The customer service is absolutely incredible! With the pandemic going on and just recently finding out my daughter's communion was rescheduled very quickly I went into full blown panic mode since we did not get a dress yet. I have been using the websites contact us text feature to periodically check if they had any news on opening dates and every time (which was many) I received a response within a half hour and that is being generous! Usually I got a response within a few minutes. Yesterday, I used the same feature and got a response right away from Caroline. Once she told me that they were beginning curbside pick up starting Monday I continued to ask if a dress we were interested in was available. Again, response right away where she went and checked the rack for me; she proceeded to check computer for the size I was looking for and said our size was the only size left that was able to be ordered! She wanted to actually show me what she saw on the computer because of the luck we had and texted me from her personal phone. Our convo lasted for the whole afternoon texting back and forth and I couldn't be more thankful! The time she took to make things as easy as possible for me meant a lot! At the end of the day the dress my daughter decided on was not available at the store and I felt absolutely horrible Caroline spent all of her time helping me for it to end with us not getting a dress from this store. Even after I told her this she insisted if I needed anything I was able to reach out to her through text anytime. This absolutely floored me and left me with an everlasting impression! We will be getting the veil from Carolyn because I want to make sure that her store gets my business in some way.
Thank you Caroline for being an incredible business owner who genuinely cares about the impression her customers leave with whether its with a sale or not. I will be sure to refer anyone I know as well as shopping here in the future. I really hope this review comes across genuine and sincere and steers more business to Layla's because Caroline deserves it!
Stay safe and Good Luck...
