Geek Squad — Local services in Valparaiso

Spent $80 at Best Buy for a data transfer. Told them I want my new computer to look & behave just like my old one (same brand). They moved my documents & pictures over. That's it. I installed office, googled how to move my chrome bookmarks over (even though geek squad said I would have to manually recreate the list - uh WRONG), re-downloaded my printer driver & programs that didn't transfer including Adobe. PDFs are commonplace now. Come on. Excel files were gone except what was on desktop. Even the time zone was wrong. Really? Next time I know to do it myself. Would have taken me 5 min to do what they did, & they had it for 48 hours. Then they wanted me to call for an appointment to pick it up. Each time I called, I was placed on hold & the chat feature emailed to me kept crashing. U can do better. #ripped off...

I needed a diagnostic and they said everything was fine when it clearly was not fine. Going in for 2nd time and demanding a diagnostic please .. please do a diagnostic when older people come in. They don’t understand new technology…. Maybe spend a few extra minutes to try and help them out. You might get more business or outstanding ratings!! Took it there to get the fan replace.They took it to the back to get the part number and said it would be 40-80 dollar's to replace it depending on how hard it would be I took it home and it wouldn't turn on So I took it the back off and they never put a wire back so I did and it turned on. Went back and now they are saying it would be 200 dollar's plus to replace lol Just seems like a big scam to buy thier plan...
