I have been to Michael's a few times to get supplies for my sons school projects. Today I purchased an item that had a price or 9.99 under it on the shelf. In fact there were 4 rows of that same price tag. While purchasing the item it rang up as 11.99. When it totaled after applying my 20 percent off coupon it showed about 9.59 or so. I told the girl it should be 9.99 and she said it was until I point out the coupon again. There were at least 14 people on this line so I just said ok and walked away until she could get help, which she had asked for about 10 minutes ago be did not get. I went to double check the prices on these items in case I may have missed something. I didn't. I waited patiently while for additional personal helped eliminate the line at checkout. I walk up to someone I thought was management wearing some red and had a portable inventory device in her hand. I explained the over charge and she told me to tell the cashier. This is the girl I purchased the item from and brought the discrepancy to light but elected not to make a backed up situation even worse. I told this to the person and she reluctantly asked for my receipt and the items. She told me I did get it for 9.99 which I pointed out the coupon again. She looks up the price and said it was 11.99. I told her there are several rows of this item that shows 9.99. She leave me to research the issue. When she returns she said the item was in the incorrect place and there was an 11.99 right next to these items. She tried to make me feel like I did something wrong and was rude and belligerent. After I got my refund I walk back to the area I took the merchandise from to confer this 11.99 price i never saw that she just told me existed. Well there was no 11.99 and all the previous 9.99 stickers were removed from the shelf. All three sticker that were there before. Thus person out right lied and even removed the incorrect price yet tried to make me feel i didn't know what the heck i was doing. Terrible...
Read moreI will probably never go to another Michael’s for as long as I live. I have the most awful customer service experience on January 4. I was at the self check out, and my coupon code would not work when I typed it in. I called for help with the assistance button but the cashier didn’t see or hear it. She did assist a customer at self check out right next to her. I waited for what seemed like forever so I canceled and hit it again. And again and again and again. She was busy doing multiple transactions for one customer. She finally called for help on her microphone, I could see her 5 registers away. I didn’t want to go down there and demand help, and I figured that’s what the “assistance” button at self checkout is for. Walmart has it nailed down pretty well.
The monster that showed up said, “do you need help?!”I told her my coupon isn’t working. I also told her that I had called for help numerous times. She actually said to me,” well maybe she didn’t hear you!” I was dumbfounded. Before I knew it, she took my cell phone and held a barcode up to it from my app. She tells me, “there. Your coupon works.”
As she is walking away I said, “excuse me! What’s the number to Corporate?” She barely turned around and said. 1-800-Michaels. No apology, no sorry you had to wait. Nothing. Did t even show me how to make my coupons work at self check out.
I did call corporate. Not much was said during that call. They just listened to me and asked if I wanted a call back. Uh, sure. Guess who calls back? The store manager, Emily. SHE’S THE MONSTER WHO...
Read moreMICHAEL'S THREW AWAY THE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY! Got your attention? Good. Be very careful who you trust with important stuff because this Michael's store messed up really bad. So I took to their framing department an autographed hockey jersey to be framed. I wanted the Certificate of Authenticity to be framed along with the jersey. Simple enough, right? So I go to pick up the framed jersey two weeks later after I got the email stating it was ready for pickup.
I get to the store, they show me the framed jersey, and I asked "Where's the Certificate of Authenticity?" Well, they weren't sure. They took it to the back to see if it was behind the canvas covering. It was not.
Michael's sent me away, without the jersey, and said they would find the Certificate of Authenticity and call me the next day.
Next day. No call. Day after. No call. I called them. They never found it. They said they were still looking for it and I asked if it was thrown away and they sheepishly said probably.
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD THROW AWAY A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY!!!????
I went to pick it up, told them I was getting a full refund, which they complied. Be careful dropping off anything of value with...
